Ok guys, I've managed to come up with the following dates for our Summer Series. 8 rounds, with the top 5 finishes to count towards the final placings. I will try to visit some other tracks such as Bathgate, Cumbernauld and any others that might offer a change of scenery, and will report back on their condition. Only problem with visiting other tracks would be a lack of start gate :( So for the time being at least, assume that all rounds will be at Clydebank.
Round 1 - 27th April
Round 2 - 11th May
Round 3 - 1st June
Round 4 - 8th June
Round 5 - 6th July
Round 6 - 13th July
Round 7 - 10th August (if there are any survivors from MK!)
Round 8 - 17th August
All those who took part in the Winter Series can ride with their final ranking plates, any other entrants can bring their own plates along, or use one of our fantastic limited edition genuine oldschool paper plates and black marker pen :D. This is to try and cut down on plates getting printed up which might not get used, which bumped costs up for the last series. But don't despair - "Summer Series '08" Final Ranking plates will be awarded at the end of the series to all those who took part. Trophies will also be awarded to everyone who takes part in at least 3 rounds. Registering for the series will be £5 this time round, with £5 entry fee per round.

Scottish OS Summer Series Results Table is now on the OSS BMX Racing website.

All the dates and rounds are on including rider names based on the Winter series.
If any riders have changed plate numbers for the Summer series then please let me know.
Check out my website for information on all the Regions OS Races and for information on the Scoring for these OS Races.
If Kenny gets the results to me A.S.A.P after each round then I should be able to update the results by Sunday Night!!!

jtsmooth is gonna try and make it up for our first round - our first foreign exchange rider! ;D :daumenhoch: Kenny S was down at Dagenham track yesterday and said it looked really good. His brother lives nearby so that's another trip we need to plan!

Yeah good work Kenny getting this organised again. It will be good to see new riders on the gate.
Hopefully weeks of doing Spinning class down the gym will pay dividends. Gotta improve my jumping and technical skills though before I can beat Kenny, etc on a regular basis.

Congrats to all the riders today another great days racing. For those that didn't come you missed out, sun and everything.

Thanks Marc for posting the placings. I would have done it earlier but as soon as I got home the family decided we had to go to the fair which is town :( Just sitting down to something to eat now. Am I knackered? Oh yeah! Cheers for coming up John, hope you had a good time. You're welcome back anytime if you can magic up weather like it was today. I can honestly say that was the best weather in 3 years of going to that track. Roll on Preston, looks like even more of us could be coming down, along with some youngsters for the newschool classes.

Despite this I managed to take fook all pics and the same number of vidz! :-[ :-[ :-[ Too busy organising everything and riding to remember about filming it. And with cracking weather, and even better racing as well!! Bugger. Sorry guys, won't happen again. Anyway, for Moley's benefit, here's the placings for each of the 3 motos:

Aye, it was great day at the track today.
Good to see everyone and a few new faces.
Props to JTSmooth making the trip up with his family.
I will never race wearing a t-shirt again. Today was the first time I did so, and I crash landed. :(
Long sleeves from now on – no matter the weather.
Should have taken my camera today, but forgot as I was in a bit of a rush to get there today.
I will remember to take some at the next meet.

It will show up when I next upload all the details which wont be until the next race at Preston when I update the photo's.
Hopefully someone who isn't racing at Preston will videotape the races.

Good meeting you John. Like the you tube clip. Hey Kenny we should have a PA. I could be MC for the race as I get the best view of the action from the back of the field.
There was some good racing yesterday all down the field on a fast track and it was great Kenny to see the weans racing. You and Kenny are doing a fab job with the club. Well done.
Shame I can't make Preston but take the MC some Buckfast I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Take loads of pics for us.

If we can find someone who isn't racing to take some pictures and videos with my camera then it should be good.
I'm a little disappointed that we haven't got video footage of all the OS motos and Finals for Both Bradford and Coppull.

Don't worry guys, it'll still be on, whether I'm racing or not. If I'm still crocked, Kenny S can borrow the 'goose to get himself some points on the board until he gets the Haro built up. I can hold my grips no problem but it might be a bit sore over the jumps, so I'll wait and see what it's like on Sunday.

I decided to take Ratty's advice today and didn't race. I had a go after the racing was done and the thumb felt fine.. after all, it's stuck in the perfect position to hold the grip! ;D Mind you, if I had raced, sod's law I would have come a cropper again and really messed it up. Oh well, I'll just need to make the points up at another round.

No vidz Moley but I did get some pics, which are up on the other Scottish thread. I was busy calling out the riders up on the start hill and working the gate, otherwise I had intended to video the action. More helpers required!! Stevo, I love those pics of my crash, he must have had a premonition to get into position and snap the carnage. Every time I look at them I pee myself laughing. (and thank my luck stars it was only a sore thumb!)

Kevin, sorry the dates don't suit mate, I know that everyone who has taken part so far is genuinly into it and would be at all of them if they could. Don't worry though, we've got another 5 trips down south this year, so hopefully you'll be able to blag a weekend pass for some of them: Hartlepool regional/OS race on 15th June, Hartlepool National on 29th June, MK08 on 2nd/3rd August, Coppull National on 13th/14th September, Preston National on 11th October :daumenhoch:
Moley, I wouldn't blame Andrew for not making the trek south from Wick. He's into freestyle so maybe he'll check out the Edinburgh oldschool skatepark nights. I'll need to get across there when i get my Dialled MX20 built up. Just looking for some cromo forks, don't fancy riding the park with Bombshells!!

Sounds cool Kenny, your trip south last weekend sounded like it was a blast so it would be good to be able to make a trip or 2... shame about the thumb though, bloody sore i bust mine playing rugby a few years ago.

Good days racing again chaps. One day I'll get an old skool bike but not this year. My boiler broke so I need to divert all available funds to that - 3k I've been quoted!!!!!!!!! :(

was only talking to my brother stephen fraser and pete scott who now lives along the road from me now, we were talking about getting the track in nairn back to to a fitt state.
the track is still there but the weeds are closing in on the track and the kids have been altering the jumps for hight

Hello Kevin, yes racing is on on Sun 13.
We all meet at the track between 12 and 1, and the racing starts once everyone is warmed up, registered, etc.
Hope the weather is decent, since we had to cancel last weekend.

Unfortunately the meet got cancelled due to the weather. Although Kenny had texted me the night before, I never looked at my phone and turned up like a numpty. I rode the track three times on the off chance that there's a loop hole in the rules and I get the meeting win and 50 points! ;D

I think we have a casual meet on the August Bank Holiday in Manchester to go crusing around the town centre and do some posing.
Rearrange the 6/7/08 meet for sometime in September and I'll pop up for the meet.
Some of the other North Region lads might want to pop up too.

Our club usually runs a big Open race each September, either the first or second week. It would be good if some of the North oldschoolers could make it up for a final end of season oldschool bash, with customery piss-up in Glasgow the night before. Anyone else fancy a trip up to sunny Clydebank?

Great day yesterday guys. The full gate including two NS was brill. A bit hairy in the first berm...lol. Lots of close racing. Manualled for the first time...by accident. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!!

Thankfully 2x Scottish champ Ali Stewart, who came along to watch, didn't take part as his Falcon Aero isn't ready yet. Despite never having been on a BMX since 1985 he was looking super quick and beating me into the first corner on my old GT Speed Series. Can't wait to see what he can do on his oldschool bike with a wee bit of practice. >:D As long as Ali isn't working or competing in a motorcycle trials competition he'll hopefully be coming along with us to some of the North Oldschool Regionals. You have been warned! ;)

A big thanks to all the guys I met yesterday at Clydebank and in particular Kenny Hunter for the transport and the work he has put into restoring my old bike and to Kenny Scullion for the use of his superb GT.
Watching the races,(my first in 25 years or so) I was quite surprised by the pace and competitiveness of all the riders, certainly nothing like the "dads"races we had bitd. Everyone tried really hard and no one ever gave up. Well done to everyone that took part. I hope more old school people get involved as the work you lads have put in to get things running deserves it.

Congratulations to Marc (Kuwahero) who won his first race yesterday in one of the toughest line ups of the year. Well done matey....git!

Moley, I think Kenny H will confirm what we are doing for winter. But some of us fancy going down south and taking part in your series, especially at the new Manchester track and other tracks.
Came across a web gallery of pics of the Clydebank track on the opening day (2005?). It looks like California with the clear blue skies. The surface looks mint, pity the wind and rain has eroded it over the years.

Its only once a month for 8 months so isn't too strenuous like the summer series.
Coppull at the end of this month and Preston at the end of next month.

Some of us will manage a few of those dates, not them all. Probably from October onwards.
It depends what we agree on doing in the winter. Probably have a better idea when we meet on 14 Sept.
The Manchester meet is in Jan 09, so that will give us plenty time to save petrol money, etc. :) Hopefully, make a trip down south before Xmas though. Cheers.

Good weekend guys, gutted I couldn't race but I got loads of photos.
I posted discs of the photos out to Paulo, Steve, Marc and Kenny H this morning so hopefully you'll get them tomorrow.
