Title: polish or Chrome..?
Post by: Rabdul06 on April 03, 2008, 10:55 PM
Hmmm - Pro Class rims 20+ years old etc, few scrapes and grazes, been about a bit..... What would give the best finish?
Chrome them or polish the beejeezus out of them? Or even leave them as they are?
your ideas please....

if you polish them, it will be cheaper to chome them.

most of the cost is in the polishing.

OK but will chroming cover up the scratches and dings or will they have to be polished out? They arent too bad but I have some NOS chrome suzue hubs on their way and wanted the whole thing to look good.
Surely (no 'dont call me shirly' jokes here please  ;D) chroming them will 'fill in' any scratches but polishing them will remove the metal which aint good....

you have to polishit so it "looks" like it would do when it is chromed. what you see is what you get.
