Some of the East Anglia boys might remember me running around Brandon BMX on my old Sting. I have a liking for those bikes and I had this frame for a little while and decided to build it up

and thanks for solving the mystery of the frame for me
as a pal had one of these schwinns bitd
and i have been trying to remember what it was for a few years now
the flared top/bottom tubes to the headtube was the givaway

Thanks guys.
To me, the Schwinn Sting is the epitomy of vitage BMX. Brazed, road oriented frame, totally trick at the time
-
Very cool Rick , I remember seeing a test in a US mag recently where the Sting was said to be one of the best complete builds and they were a premium price over quite a few other makes ;) .
The tubing & brazing work is trick .
