Can anyone tell me what happened to Skyway & Hutch bikes...?
when & why did they stop making bikes/ frames..??
i remember Mike Canning still being sponcered by Skyway in 89..
Mick Hudson was sponcered by Hutch back then...
and i think Goeff Catlow was still the Hutch manager then too...
was it the likes of new companies like Hoffman bikes that killed the sales of Hutch/ Skyway bikes
or did these companies no longer see a market for Bmx ??
Mike Canning on Skyway bikes.... Alfreton 89.

Hutch went bust after trying to go mainstream with crap bikes and an unsuccessful patent attempt and Skyway carried on but stopped making frames and bikes in the early 90's.

I swear the HUTCH name was bought by some english guys a few years back & they were planning on "re-launching" it? They were at tUrban Games riding around on some Trickstars giving out stickers. The guys asked me to mention it in ride mag.....

Should tell you on here mate...in fact you'll probably get some more Skyway info from this site too if you have a search. Great site and a fabulous source of info... :daumenhoch:

Hutch became Hutchins because of legal problems over the name Hutch. Last I heard (early 90s) the Hutchins and Revcore brands were owned by a guy in the US called Jay Becht. I think Hutchins/Revcore totally disappeared around the mid-90s.

when hutch's began to look like this and were now made in tiawan this was the begining of the end. plus the fact they were spending more money than they were making.

mind you this is still a fine example that you don't often see every day :daumenhoch:
