Wow, didn't know that - I've been out of the cycle shop malarky for too long ;D

Argos Cycles in Bristol will thread forks for you. They charge £20 per inch of thread. I would imagine you can get it done cheaper, but at least it is a base cost.

MTB's used to run 1 &1/8th threaded headsets just before threadless came into play but I dont think you will get a bmx quill stem to fit an 1 & 1/18 fork?
You can use reducers and run a 1" threaded Landing Gear set up as shown on this late 90's alloy Quad:-
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/y79/dingobmxer/quad1.jpg)
or standing gear as on this:-

but I dont see the point? there are loads of nice clamp on stems and some retro ones to boot, why not run one of those?
This is scooterboys on here (and bloody beautiful imho) with a proper 1 & 1/8th set up:-

:) DINGO :)

if you did cut a thread into it, would you then be able to race in a o/s race?
-
dunno if the brakes would be classed as old skool
-
if its one of the limited edition baby blue quad it comes with a hole in the front forks and a rear brake bridge for early type brakes, so maybe you could then!
-
why would you want to??!!
threaded headsets were utter SHITE :LolLolLolLol:

i know that, but dont they need a threaded headset to compete in the class(o/s that is)?
-
It wouldnt be OS legal as its classed as a "ringer" and then every fooker would do it :2gunsfiring_v1:
:) DINGO :)
-
its got a 1.1/8 head set even if its converted to 1" its not the normal spec on the bike so wouldnt even be considered for old school racing :)

So that's not the plan then? I'm intrgued :-\. Are you just after doing something different and very retro looking?
