i'm interested in bidding on this but how would you go about confirming the frames provenance?
is the seller a rad member?

i agree joe, its easy to get him to sighn stuff, i got his sig a few times, would be nice though, how easy would it be to get hold of matt ?
-
might ask stodgy if he can help :D
i've messaged the guy asking him if he has any proof that it was actually matts, i'd be chuffed to bits if it is :LolLolLolLol:
it needs to go in a cases like one of those stuffed fishes you see in traditional pubs :)

That's a great peice of bmx history... if it is genuine!! ???
Matt must have snapped many frames in his time... would he remember if you could contact him though?
Maybe you can contact him through one of these site's...?? good luck with the bidding dude!! :daumenhoch:

Why would he bring a snapped frame over to Backyard Jam though? Did he bring it to give away to a fan? I could understand if he snapped his frame at Backyard, then gave it away. I just don't understand why he would bring a snapped frame all the way over here. Surely if he wanted to give his frame away to a fan he could have given them the one he was riding at Backyard, which would have been in one piece. ???
-
I'm liking that T shirt, but the frame's a bit of a tricky one ??? All you can do is ask the question... who knows?
-
Well other ppl who were at Backyard in 95 must remember The Condor giving a frame away!!!
I'm sure everyone still recalls MaTT throwing his wheels into the crowd at the KOV... and that was 1990!!
I went to a few Backyards... but not that one!!
Was any Rad members at Backyard 95 ?
-
you might have to go as far as to meeting the guy and seeing how trust worthy he is
-
i was at backyard 95.. on the vert day it rained a lot, i sold a lengthy to a hairdresser, the newly formed "union" painted "bolox"over the ride logo on the vert ramp.. was the car boot sale 94? as far as bringing a broken frame over to give away. no idea. sounds iffy. but who knows??

Yep, the car boot was 94 (nice and sunny), I was on the deck of the vert in 95 Mat wasn't really riding hard because of the rain/wet ramp so I don't think he broke it then.
The back story sounds iffy like everyone else says, why would he bring a broken frame?
I'd press the seller for more info.
-
shame stodgys in the states as he would ask him.
as for the frame well take your chances ;)
-
havant? aint that where winghams from? ask dj, he's from near there.
as if hoffmans gonna ride a bike with no stickers. and if he'd gave you the frame, and you'd kept it as a treasure, you'd remove the stickers?
smells of shit.
-
That's a fair point that is.
-
I was there at that Backyard. I don't remember hearing owt about Mat giving a frame away....
-
It's becoming pretty obvious this thing is a scam!! :knuppel2:
Shame like... would have been a nice bit of bmx history if it was genuine!! :(

Read quite a bit about MAT not MATT whilst researching my Condor build He is a good buisness man and I dont see him bringing a frame that was broken (not good advertising)all the way from the states and then it not having any Hoffman Stickers on it let alone his sponsors one's. If the Guy was such a fan surely he would know How to spell Mat's name.
Old American Indian saying "If it looks like bulls**t,and it Smells like buls**t It probably is BULLS**T"
-
I just sent him a message asking him what happened to the stickers
-
I know its ended now but I had a look at my 95 usa built condor and the seat clamp area is totally different.
Mine has a thicker walled seat clamp and the seat stay tubes almost pass the seat tube and connect mainly with the top tube.
Looks dodgy to me
Cheers
Paul
-
they had 2 variations of the us condor ,maybe even more .
the se one, and the hoffman ramp room one, not sure what that one is.
-
itlooks like a 98 the same as mine

just had another look and the seatstays do go past the seat tube on mine
dunno then?
-

Apparently he took the stickers off to polish it up and was going to replace the stickers with a set he bought from Super bikes in Ilford, Essex... but they were lost as were the photo's of Matt with the frame.... :-\
?

Does anyone know who it is won this auction in the end?
-
not me :daumenhoch:
the history was too vague and the stickers story didnt add up,
i've got an s&m here that belonged to moeller himself! honest! :LolLolLolLol:

And I'm with Fuzzy Mark, there is no way he would have brought over a broken frame from the states...the last thing he would have wanted is bad publicity.
