There was also a track in stamford le hope, just down the road.
Seen a pic in an old mag, but never went there as a kid. Wonder if it's still there?
Anyone else know of any hidden gems in Essex??

There was a track in Rayleigh, bottom of Grove road, they had 1 meeting there and the residents complained. It was a horrible stoney surface, with only a tabletop worth jumping, until about 1997 when my friend Ian dug for Britain.
This is him, most of the trails in this vid were filmed there. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9s7Y3QYEypo (http://youtube.com/watch?v=9s7Y3QYEypo)
There was a vert ramp in Rochford, but no track. A few pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/evamedia/sets/72157603273909202/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/evamedia/sets/72157603273909202/)

The gate mounting (cracked) is the only thing left really, the tabletop was nothing like it is now bitd.
CC did live round the corner, and his brother Fraser is on the platform on one of the pics from the vert ramp in Rochford on the earlier post.

Is it decent condition, or not rideable at all??

i was in the rochford road runners club bitd we had the track built and it was a pretty good track
we managed to stage a meeting,i think it was a regional, but there was so much aggro from the residents that the council put a stop to it .

Some of these http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigsteev/sets/72157603694028073/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigsteev/sets/72157603694028073/) were from Rayleigh. They had a Gaywood Cup meeting there in about 84 I think (might have been early 85). It was a sort of inter club series in what was Region 9.

Cool pics, good to see Rayleigh like that

i take on board what your saying about grove road, but most tracks only had 4/5 jumps and bitd there were some pretty ropey tracks around.i always loved buckmore park but the gate at the begining of racing there was only a scaffold board with a bloke holding it at one end and if you was the other end the board would flex and you could jump the start :LolLolLolLol:
