With 1.75 rims now being thin on the ground in Nos condition, why is it that folks steer clear of 1.5 size rims
for there builds when these are just as good.
I know that if you are using them for racing 1.75 single wall (as most old school rims are) are prefered, but for
example Araya Aero rims in 1.5 are double walled and are strong enough for most modern day racing, the rims
on my new school Floval Flyer are thinner then 1.5 rims and are still straight as an arrow.
Im mean for a show bike surely 1.5 rims would be the best substitute

Just wait till they come as rare as the 1.75 and people won't make no difference...
I used to have a few sets in 1.5 BITD, nice and light looking IMHO and you can mount the usual 20" tyres on them (no 1 3/8 or 1 1/8 mess)

well that could be very very soon

i hope so because i've been buying up 1.5's for about 10 months now - much prefer them on race bikes :daumenhoch:

i much prefer 1.5s on my race bikes, they look cool as fook and cant imagine any difference in strength, what ever will fook 1.5s would fook 1.75s IMO :daumenhoch:

I am racing 1.5 's and they take everything I throw at em :daumenhoch:

my Dy and my shadow both wear 1.5 rims....
got other bikes running 1.75's, but wearing 1.5 tyres...
there's something sleek about a 1.5 set up in comparison to the 1.75..
