Restoration is pretty cool when done well & much more satisfying than buying NOS ..............................................
BEFORE: ( Reasonable amount of years of built up grime & overspray ! lol ) ...............................

The Suntour Superbe's ( on left ) were the worst , the Campy Records on the right show no sign of ever being laced . The Suntours are rarer than the Campy's , I've seen a few sets of low flange Superbe's but not any high flange on the message boards but they must be out there .
A loyal supporter of the Suntour Superbe range was ABA Hall of famer Mr Greg Grubbs , seen here on the cover of BMX Action Dec 82 .

Not quite finished but close , the two sets above joined by some Tipo's I've had a while now ......................................

Very nice dude. I know what you mean about the Superbe's I have been looking for some for ages.
Can you give us a run through of your polishing process. Been trying to polish some of my stuff.
Dont know if i'm doing things wrong or just lacking patience. :LolLolLolLol:

Matt, they look great. I have polished a couple of pairs of hubs now and they looked fantastic, but they soon tarnish. What do you do to stop em tarnishing?

Hi Tony ,
Only had them done a few weeks & yet to be built so not at that stage yet .
I know some have lacquered them but if that starts coming off then they look dreadful , all kinda patchy ::) .

I did try and lacquer 1 pair, they looked crap tbh and I re-polished them, any ideas
-
lightly coat in a quality car wax & polish off, should protect well.

wax on wax off :LolLolLolLol:

Nice hub Frosty , nicknamed Sheriff Stars ;) ( they'd be awesome in a mid build , I'm thinking Kastan , TNT , etc etc ) .

I have a pair built with chrome araya 7x's, the hubs are in very good shape and the rims too, decals faded etc, but there is 1 spoke missing so I need to get that sorted and then decide on what they will appear!!
