Title: Odyssey barefeet tyres – any good?
Post by: Stevo on April 21, 2008, 11:36 PM
I see these tyres are going for a good price on Alans. I want run skin wall tyres on a new school bike, thought these would be ideal.

I ride flatland and ramps (sometimes).

Are they recommended? Or is there better skin walls available at a similar price?

Cheers

Stevo

Barefeet tyres are good for the price although they wear out quite quickly, I have some on my wife's redline, however better skinwalls for a new school would be KHE Lamello, they are selling on Billys website for £11.50 each.

If you want the Odyssey Barefeet tyres, then go no-where near Alans as they are £10 each (+postage), look on ebay (follow my link) and userid 1strada (Shiners, Bristol) are selling a pair for £10 (+ postage)

Wow, that was very helpful. The KHEs look a lot tougher than the Odysseys.

Yet another example of how its worth asking for advice on here, before spending the cash.

Thanks again Stidds, nice Redline.

i have been riding a set of barefoots for over a year ( all be it fair weather riding and they are still spot on )
and they were from 1strada  :daumenhoch:
like stidds says i would generally avoid alans fullstop for old school gear now, most of his stuff is fairly common and accessable elsewhere for less £££££
