love it stevie , its been done a few times in the past, and it looks cool :4_17_5:
-
This is going to be interesting, have you ridden on it yet?
-
I would still love a orange one on the front of my bike :daumenhoch:

I just rode home on it, about 8 miles and it feels fine. I can pull it by hand and make the tyre touch the forks (which freaked me a little) but when riding it, and carving the street, I'm yet to feel a difference from my 36. You feel RAD just rollin' with a mag though, it's deffo here to stay.
-
nice and flexy ;) now lets go look on ebay :4_17_5:
-
I love the look and will be interested to see how it stands up to your standard of riding (high standard that is) ;)
Have been looking for an orphan graphite meself.
-
be interesting to see how it coaps with some trail action ,all be it slow action :LolLolLolLol:
-
sandy carson had one a few years back , it was orange, i cant find the pics atm , looked great, he broke it, but he's a mas sob :idiot2:
-

in the abscence of a TA for me to make into a dirt bros replica i might just use my orange tuffs to do just that. lol.
-
but I'm guessing you can;t go to like 100psi with tuffs right?
-
50psi tops
-
50psi tops
i run 45psi in my maxdaddy so should be ok,
-
oops, i put like 85psi in mine... what will happen?
-

Argh Sh*t.... that sucks balls. Does it happen a lot?
-
sadly mate i dont think they were desighned (spelling lol) for 85 psi, but then if its still on go for it, i put 60 in my maxdaddy last week, it popped off :-\ so back to 45, but with my bad landings it feels better being soft :LolLolLolLol:
-
I"ll risk it and see how it goes.... I'm off to ride trails now, first proper test!
-
it should be ok steve, seen them run hard and lasted
a sketchy landing then it might not be very happy good luck ;)
-
85psi!!!!! This is gonna be funny :LolLolLolLol:
-
ive got 60psi in me graphs but not rode that in anger yet lol
as cant get used to the tioga wheel barrow pro bars on the torker
-
Did you make it back alive then Steve?
-
Did you make it back alive then Steve?
There were puddles, so I didn't get a proper test, will do tomorrow at Harrow I guess... ha. I'm nervous.
-
ive had a poor quality tyre pop off a tuff at 45psi when jumping from a 2 foot ledge in the street.
if its somthing with a nice thick wall, you stand more chance.
-
I've got a folding tyre on it... I'm gunna die.
-
how did the trails go stevie :daumenhoch:
-

i dont know if ya brave or just a loon mate, fair play :LolLolLolLol:
-
i like it!
vic murphy style,
funky :daumenhoch:
you might actually be better WITH the folding bead tyres as the kevlar will give less than a regular steel wire bead,
i ran one that i found in a river on my STA years back, the tyre never popped off the rim but it F-L-E-X-E-D bigstyle :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers for advice, tomorrow will tell I guess, I'll pack my old wheel just incase. Haha
I really REALLY hope it works cos I love it.
-
Really loving the look big style, wonder how it would go with a cheng shin knobby :coolsmiley: Now all i got to do is find a front...... ;)
-
I just spent about 5 mins outside my house trying to get this tyre off the rim using my feet, wedging it against curbs, sliders etc... but it seems pretty solid! Maybe we're onto something with folding tyres and mags? exciting stuff!
-
looking forward to seeing this in the flesh tomorrow :daumenhoch:
-
me too.
it says on a comp 3
"85 psi/ steel wheels 45 / plastic wheels"
-
I seem to remember seeing something about running higher pressures on the docs that came with my new graffs.
According to Coloredtuffs.com "Skyway's new Graphites are molded from a proprietary blend of long-strand CARBON FIBER and ZYTEL NYLON (Same way they were made years ago!). This blend produces a wheel far stiffer than any composite wheel on the market. These wheels put the power to the ground yet take the abuse of hard landings without having to true your spokes after every ride. This strength and stiffness also allow the use of higher tire pressures than possible with previous composite wheels."

Never had a problem with it myself, 60psi was fine. Had to stop using the tuff when I bailed and bent the fork (new one didn't have enough clearance to allow for the flex).

Do it dude.... Modern forks seem to have tons of room for fat tyres, so the flex issue isn't really a prob... and once we test if this folding tyre is the secret to success, we'll be laughin! They are not overly heavy either. :daumenhoch:
