Red - $726 so far and 3 days left. There's some blue on at similar money too. But the sickening thing is it reminded of something and opened up a bitter old wound.......
Less than a year ago there was an nos boxed pair of red that came up on UK ebay one night, starting at 99p and I sent him a message saying would you sell them on a buy it now for something like £50 I offered him. The reply I got was "thank you for your offer but I've just agreed a price with someone for £13 posted and I don't like to go back on a deal". That reply's scarred me for life....
-
and now me :crazy2:
-
its like old stamps going for £5k...mad
-
ha ha good one Mark !
They're crap anyways.
Can you guess who is the mysterious higher bidder "s***c( 5545)" ?? ;) ;) ;)
-
my brother has said there are detail perfect black copies where he is in Japan right now - won't be long before they hit these shores i should imagine.
-
Mark, here's some cheap one's mate !! LOL !!

it's not Subwax, he's only got an ebay feedback score of around 700....
THe same guys winning the BLUE ones too, mental ! :uglystupid2:
-
^^^^^^^^^^ duuuurrrrrrrrrrrr WRONG. :-X
u***b
I know ...he's out bid me many times and his feedback is 852 currently
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=subwax&completed=1&all=1&rows=25&sort=3
You kinda get used to your ebay nemesis after a while.... takes me a lil longer to get my parts...but i pay half what he does, cause he just bids silly money.
So yeah, it IS him. Guy loves his bikes fair play.
:2gunsfiring_v1: :LolLolLolLol: ....was referring to the hghtest bidder: s***c( 5545) US $726.00 Apr-21-08 17:25:01 PDT
What does "u***b" mean ? What do the letters stand for ?
looking at Subwax's bid history he spends some hard cash, BUT ?......HAS ANYONE SEEN HIS COLLECTION ? I heard he has some nice Redline's ? And a lot of other stuff judging by his ebay feedback ?
-
look at the 2nd bidder on both sets......"f***y( -2 ) " ::)
shill or not to shill ?
-
Mark, here's some cheap one's mate !! LOL !!

I've got some nos red Matt, I paid crazy money, £1100 or £1200 but came with a free Hollywood which was kind.
Oh, and to the last reply matt, I was thinking shill too if the other ones of similar condition were half the price. Fishy.....
-
Some might consider shill bidding against "s***c( 5545)" (bmx-addicts) is almost fair... ;)
-
Are they lined with gold or platinum. That price is unbelievable - I guess he's getting ready for Rockford or some other US show.
Who is this subwax - never seem to see him on here at all, but plenty on Ebay. He must have an amazing collection. I guess he's in the UK?
-
Here's a reality check for a comparison - I had a tax rebate today that would only just about pay for those grips.....life just doesn't equate...
-
good old subwax.i played him about a year ago bidding on some old crap.only me and him were bidding so i pushed the price right up and left him to it.
-
Seems everyone on this site dislikes the guy - whats the deal with him? Is he dodgy?
-
after the hutch grips issue on the other thread a hypocrite it would appear :uglystupid2:
its all abit my bikes better than yours really.the clever money was buying this stuff 8 years ago when alan woods had those grips for £10 pair.lets be honest they are nothing special and never were in grip land. ::)
-
So he shoves his collection in everyone's faces. Thats really stupid. I can see why people are angry with him.
Has he posted pics here or showed off on here? I cant find any posts or pics of him. Must be my crap computer skills.
-
the price for these grips are mad!! :idiot2: :idiot2:
-
i have a pair of near nos black ones maybe its time to part with them ;)
-
give ya £20 for em if they're those tange un's you did with tippex >:D Man would I love to stumble on a box of them puppies :LolLolLolLol:
-
As a complete Hutch "novice"...I have to say those grips look sh*t!....At least if you look at metal Hutch parts, you can see quality materials/maching etc...But red rubber grips, for that money?! :wtf:
"Emperors new shoes" springs to mind...
Just curious, but you clever peeps, where do you find all your stuff? I'm happy to buy from you, but just curious how certain people seem to get boxes and boxes of good old school stuff?
and finally (yes, I've had a drink!) when will all the NOS stuff run out? I cant believe how much there is around at the mo...but part of me is sad that it will run out :'(

Nice one Boofy.
-
now i know it seems a lot, but i didn't think twice spending a fortune on tyres with more grip even though i had 4 almost new tyres on my car. I don't think twice about spending 1g+ on a set of rims for a car, or other silly amounts. I will spend 2-3G on a synth, 2g on my computer for music, etc etc.. and i am very far from loaded. I know they are only grips, but if you really want them, then you will pay what they cost. People with a passion for things often pay over the odds for the exact item they want rare or not. I wouldn't pay that for grips, but would buy a 3 grand keyboard? horses for courses.

Subwax = incubus1
-

he's pretty dodgey, a bit rainman like :LolLolLolLol:
-
Incubus was a mate of mine - Matt. I guess it was a bit sneaky, but what the hell.
:2funny:

:2funny:
So what did you do Neil? I'm all ears....
..and just plain nosey!
-
Nothing really, mate - he just told me how I was being slagged off all the time. Mostly by people I had never met or had any dealings with at all. And William, of course.
Still, its no big deal. I'm here now so people can slag me off to my face now.
:daumenhoch:
-
Good one. Bet the comments have declined now your here in person?
:daumenhoch:

You know - I have had quite a warm welcome back - I am very surprised, to be honest.

Very sly and very underhand, I thought you were better than than Neil... do not play me again.

You're suprised that people will welcome you 'back' to RAD ? Why is that ??? Although, by the looks of it you never left ;D ?

Well, strictly speaking, it wasnt me, but I understand that you might feel like I have taken advantage of you, and for that I apologise. I diodnt know that was going on to that extent, however I will take full responsibility.

I havent signed on to Rad for at least 2 years. Incubus wasnt me per se, it was a mate of mine, although I will admit to speaking to him about Rad and what was going on. He was using my DSL for a while, so I did have a hand in what he was looking at.
If you're surprised, then I guess you didnt know about the Cultbmx site, and all the bad feeling that came out of that.

I remember Cult, and infact signed up as a member...., although maybe the histrionics on that etc should be left in the past and we should concentrate on our shared interest.
How 'bout showing everyone some of your bikes,....could break the ice :)
so, R U coming to MK then.....
-
all in good time, my man.
I'm in Cornwall on a family holiday when MK is on, so wont make it this year.
Thing is, its daft when the US guys are expressing so much interest in the UK scene, and because I didnt have anything positive to say, I'd say nothing. Thats just plain daft. I plan to get a bit more involved in Rad now, despite the history. I cant keep hauling my bikes over to the US for shows - lol.
(didnt actually work like that - I have some 40 bikes in the US at the moment - problem is getting the bloody things back here).
-
Neil,
Is Willinois still looking after your goodies over there?
Did you get any of the Orange GHP's that were on craigslist earlier this year/late last year??
Regards
Paul
-
No - didnt get those orange GHP's - the guy wanted too much. In hindsight, it might have been a good buy, but I think I have enough GHP's now!!!
I REALLY dont need any more 83 / 84's - I need an 85 Pro II though.
Picked up 2 Trix's as well, with a line on a 3rd.
-
That orange one was a strange one - it was an 83, which was repainted by the shop owner.
My pièce de résistance is an 08/83 GHP, its one of the very first GHP's made, using the remaining Star frames that Greg's dad had. I have only ever seen 1 of them.
-
Ahh a month earlier than the one I won when your were off on hols a couple of years ago ;)
I also have Jay Starks old Star too
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/y91/frosty_paul/GHP/DSCF1165.jpg)
-
OK - so that makes it 2 Star frames I have seen.
Nice one Frosty - I wasnt expecting to see that. They're both here in the UK too - how cool.
Giveaway is the gusset on the downtube, although I am sure I didnt need to tell you that.
Fancy trading that frame for a full frame / fork set?
-
Nahh I have the fork too. It is more like the GHP fork than the earlier Star one
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/y91/frosty_paul/GHP/DSCF1159.jpg)
but I would like one of these decals to go on the Star Bars I have lined up for it!!
-
I had a set of those bars as well. That decal's going to be a tough one to get hold of.
Isnt there a guy called Del who is good at decal repro'ing?
-

yeah, Del is 'the man' for decals...
-
Indeed Del is quite a star check what he has done for me
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/y91/frosty_paul/GHP/starbmxdecal.jpg)
-
I had some done as well - I think Lee showed me a set of Del's when I saw him last. They were pretty good.
Not as good as mine, of course
:LolLolLolLol:
-
The Star BMX one he had to do from scratch the only pic I had was an incomplete from a test scan

Give me a PM - I might have a few surprises for you.

Do you live with him then, only you both have the same i.p address ???
-
Evder heard of NAT, William? Look it up. While you're at it, check out VPN / IPSEC too. Then have a quick look at how an ADSL technoology works - worth checking out wireless too.
Damn, you're trying hard to create some drama here, huh. Didnt expect any less of you.

He worked in my office for a while.
Tell you what, William - as you're on the hunt for drama, lets gfive you some - both of those accounts were me - I made up the other guy, name and all.
Satisfied?
Can we move on now, or is the fact that everyone seems to be happy to forget the past and talk BMX getting on your nervces a little, why not just come out and say hoew much this is irritating you. Go ahead, means little to me.
-
How about this for some drama, you`re banned :police:
-
Go for it - there's nothing I can do to stop you.
I cant be arsed with this bickering, so perhaps its the best thing.
-
All done, see ya :police:
