Ive got an old 84 GT performer. The decals are knackered! Looks like someone has had a go at getting them off before but failed like me!
I have tried the hairdryer but i cant get enough peel. The decals are just flaking. The frame is chrome and the decals are chrome ones so the silver is flaking everywhere!
Can i try anything else other than hairdryer?
Cheers Nick ;)

ive got decals of an old mtb once by soaking them with soapy water and they came off a treat but they were normal decals so dont know if it would work with your chrome ones cheers scott :daumenhoch:

DONT USE BRAKE FLUID... it makes paint look shiny for a while whilst steadily eating it away..... avoid like the plague...

is that right .... so these nice little fellas who go round chucking brake fluid on peoples cars in the dead of night for a laugh are just trying to save joe bloggs from polishing his car by squirting a bit of brake fluid on his pride and joy to give it a polish...i think not... it strips paint!!!!

White spirit or brake cleaner will do the trick and leave no damage behind.
Munners - go to any car spares shop. You'll get brake cleaner in aerosol form for around £4 a can. It's just a bloody strong solvent cleaner for removing brake dust and the like. Don't get it in your eyes though, it stings like hell!

:) I used Nitromors yesterday on a pair of Odyssey forks.Being a lazy sod,I left the stickers on thinking there`ll just peel off.Paint came off fine, but I had to peel the stickers myself..

Human shit.
How do you know ,Scatman ?

I've got a friend who's a sign writer... swears by lighter fluid to get even the long life vinyl stickers off. They will need coaxing off with a cloth and an old credit card but the fluid should dissolve the glue properly.
... he's never mentioned human shit being usefull for anything though..
