Title: pro neck stem shaft

anyone know how to get the steel shaft out of the alloy head of a pro neck stem? i can't even undo the big nut it seem stuck solid and don't want to damage the head as it is basically nos butwant to anno blue :daumenhoch:

not a clue, but as its alloy and steel it wont be welded, chances are the alloy was heated up to expand then the shaft inserted, when it cools it forms the tight grip, like a lugged frame, you might have to try this to get it out, good luck...sam

You need to undeo the bolt and find someone with a bearing press to pop the shaft out and then pop it back in.  No heat used or needed as it's just pressed in and then the bolt tightened up to keep it all snug  :daumenhoch:.

Also, clamp an old set of bars or even a seat post in the stem ... doing so will help undo the main bolt  :daumenhoch:
