Title: Redline RL-20ii - What's it worth?
Post by: thehappyotter on April 30, 2008, 06:19 PM
About 10 years ago I was given an old BMX by a friend of my dads.  He used to be really into riding an was aparently semi-pro at one point.

The bike has just sat in the garage and has only been ridden once or twice, it's almost totally original.  the tyres still have the little sticky out bits from the moulding process (anyone know what they're called???).

The only things which have been changed are inner tubes and brake cable inners and there is a scratch in the paint on the frame.  The chrome is also rusting in areas.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what it may be worth.  I'm going to sell as i'd love to see it restored totally and for it to be ridden once again.

The bike is as follows:

Redline RL-20II Pro-Styler frame
Redline forks
Redline Flight three piece cranks
MKS Grafight-x pedals
Araya rims on sealed hubs
Dia-Compe MX brakes
Pro-Neck stem

Pictures are below:

Anyone have any ideas?

Very nice, you'd get more splitting it but I would say between £500 and £700 as a compelte bike based on the parts, maybe more  :daumenhoch:.

I'd really love to keep it, I know deep down though that it'd just sit in the garage for another 10 years and that's the last thing I want for it.

There's no way i'd split it either, it's spent so long together i'd hate to pull it apart.

Does anyone know what year it could be too?

I imagine they'd have been made on exactly the same day and will probably have shared the same truck out of the factory gates.  Spooky.

When I look at that, I see RL Osborn, I see Radberry, I see peregrine masters..its enough to make me wet meself  :2funny:

I really REALLY wish I could afford it  :'(

It would be nice to see it go to someone on here who would give it the love it deserves...I would hate to see it on the bay for the sharks to tear it apart and sell it as bits, and a gem lost forever.
