im posting this on behalf of a mate who has been given this frame, he has just blasted it and sent me some (crappy!) pics to ask you guys for some help!
he was told it was an 85 Redline but after looking through the museum we thought it may be later, possibly an 87 Redline RL20!
can anyone shed any light?
he got it for free so aint complaining! lol

someone off another site said it looks something like a 1990 24o with some welding done behind the seatpost!
any advice would be cool, we think the tube behind seat tube may have been added! he is thinking of getting it off!
what you guys reckon? ::)
-
hi, may be wrong but i dont think its a redline,
what the serial number is it stamped redline?
cheers gary
-
he says the serial number has been rubbed out or has just been eroded becouse you cant make anything out. the guy who gave him the frame had it for years and had always thought it was a redline.
this is turning into quite a puzzle! ???
-
its not an MBK is it? as they did a few variations. and you gonna be struggling to fit a seatclamp with that extra tube that looks as though has been added
mbk

he took the added tube off today and there are the 2 extra holes on the back plate bit!

MBK = Motobecane I think .

hello guys,
you are right! this is a Motobecane/MBK mx400, started in 1984 and stopped in 1986, you frame has been repaired at the seatclamp area because most of the frames broke here, bitd i broke two frames, the tube was too long,
it was the most expensive product of motobecane , it's full 4130, welds were inexternal
here the link to see the 84 ad, the mx400 in on the page 3 ;)
