Title: using Skyway Tuff2 in front
Post by: fLA on May 01, 2008, 10:45 PM
Hi,

I would like to know if there is a new "tendencies" or it is "cool" to use on New-school bikes only a front Skyway tuff2 wheel?
or did I always saw the same person using it on a bike.

regards,  ;)

The orange tuff guy was on the United DVD, I think its a guy fom irelands bike.

It sure is StevieB using a black one, and he loves it.

yeah it sounded like a balloon bouncing on the floor...........mind you Stevie is only about 2 stone soaking wet, not sure how a tuff would survive with 16 stone of my fat arse coming down on it  :LolLolLolLol:

I rode the year before last with a tuff on the front. It takes a few days to get used to as the flex takes away some of the pump power.

i think it looks cool anyway.

the bike in the united dvd is ricky adams, dig photographer.

he scored a tuff same time as sandy from wtp when they released the adidas bmx or whatever it was at the time, rickys bike is a hoffman flash.

Mines off now...  I pumped out of a tranny and nothing happened, next thing I know I was over the deck.  That was it for me.  Fun while is lasted and I sure enjoyed the look of it.

Im sure I told you about pumping too hard on Tuffs at Harrow. A front Tuff sent my mate otb's coming down a transition. He split his eyebrow open quite nastly.

Oh yes Marty, it sure does!

I dont really know what happened with Bills crash, but Front Tuffs are known for folding/flexing/wasing out when you pump down on them (eg going up or down a transition).

Or in our case Phil

When I ran your rear Tuff  in my front forks at Interact that night ( because my front wheel's axle had threaded )

front to back my gearing was 16t , 28t, 10t   ;D

i have a set of yellow tuffs with a cassette hub, there is a skyway tuffs history page on bmxmuseum that details all of their products, the cassette hub was available between 79-81 if i remember correctly, they only offered a choice of cassette or coaster for this period...... :daumenhoch:

in the 80's you would see tuffs on the front, as the rear hubs would disintegrate faster than the fronts

god, he's back on for 2 mins and picks up where he left of, slaggin tuffs. He'll be on about TT lengths before you know it....

i didn't slag off your favourite wheel
the front wheels always last much longer than the rears
same with aero zytecs.
