Title: got myself a new BIRD
Post by: firebird on May 04, 2008, 03:25 PM: picked this up this week, had a lot of rust under the frame gusset so i thought i'd give the Coke and foil trick ago. this really does work well. after giving it a good polish i could see where the old decal's use to be. the head tube decals use to be round so this meant that they had the old red decals fitted. you can just make out the shape of the head tube decal in the top picture. so i made them up and put them on. it also has a early frame number 0490.

Like that a lot more than the later decals, got a slightly cafe-racer look to it 8) - also, are those kind of cut-to-shape decals, IE - not printed on a transparent sticker?
