-
Where was Tolworth track then, i lived in Surbiton from about 82 to 84 and we had to race in the woods ;D
-
Steve
You would have raced in my age group.
I posted these on the old forum, but here are some of me racing.
Me riding for JMC at Southampton (how cool was I with my Oakley goggles, Oakley 1/2 mask and no mouth guard? ;D)

Thats the one Sean, i am so glad you are back on, were
you in the age group who had to jump it ? certainly
sorted the men from the boys, wasnt it 14+ had to
go over it.
-
Yeah, I was in the age to jump it Kev, frightened the bloody life out of me as in practise the sliding door wasn't open. Was a bit daunting at 1st but as soon as you went over it once you kind of forgot about it.
Always had more trouble with the water jump at Hounslow as you had to get loads of speed to get up the berm. Must say though the funniest (read crapest) water jump was at Oxford, it was about 1 ft across.
-
Yeh i remember that one, Farnham had a fairly small one as well, talking
of Hounslow you got that Action Bike with Lee picking his Ku out of it.
-
what edition and mag is that surbiton report in,
as thats me near my dads old mk2 escort estate-rear, with the custom wooden roofrack
-that day, me dad won a set of flight cranks in the raffle, and the wife crashed really badly- :D
-thats the father in law (close) pulling the lid back
or could you scan it 600dots and send it to me?
-i think that is me with you on the isleworth gate-blue helmet-black top
-i think the day before, i got some maxi cross cranks, swapped my renthals for some of those bars with the cross bar nearer the top?-what were they?
-

Yeah, I have that one Kev, really funny to see podgy old Summers going for a swim.
Steve pm me your address and I will send you the mag with that picture in.

Bloody marvelous pics, is that one from Milton Keynes at the Speedway? I used to love that track with its super gnarly start, the drop off that was so steep you couldn't ride up it. (As featured in Dave Spurden's BMX book, on a day I was racing there with all my friends).
Do you mean the Deddington track water jump? I've got a pic of it but am having a mare with my hosting place. I'll sort it later.
-
BIG UP BRUNSWICK BOYS CLUB!
nice one Steve-those pictures are a piece of my memory too.
RIP Winnie.
Great to see you and the Mrs back in the sport.

Thats the Speedway track at Milton Keynes (Bleakhall), those doubles were on the last straight. The race in the Dave spurdens book was in August 1983, it was my first ever race! My Dad even got in some of the pictures in that book, I was gutted, I didn't.

As we are all talking about old tracks this week, I found this thread and I thought it worthy of resurecting :daumenhoch:
