Title: Kuwahara id?
Post by: Glynnyboy on May 18, 2008, 07:30 PM
Hi i got this kuwy off ebay over a year ago now the only thing i am pretty sure of is it isn't a magician pro. I thought to start with a kz4 maybe but now i'm not so sure can anyone give me a + id. What's got me thinking is i was recentley looking through some old mags and noticed the 84 nova had the three holed dropout and from the look of the mag article the same forks.
The frame has kuwahara stamped over the flat brake bridge.
kuwahara stamped behind the seatpost tube.
the k stamped on the rear dropouts.
under the bb shell it says, KUWAHARA
                                          K4911377
                                      PRODUCT OF JAPAN
No stamping on the forks.(the fork dropouts look like trx)
The tubing on the frame and the forks is perfectley round.
Also could anyone give me an idea what the correct decals are aswell?

sorry guys bad pics but the sticker set is off a kuwahara magician pro you can just make it out on the seat post tube. From the frame number i think it's 84 but i'm not sure what models they had out in 84. I know they had out the lazerlite and the new nova but am unsure of the differences as i can't find any real info on the nova .

Check the od of the top and down tubes, if 1 3/8ths (tubes may be slightly oval) for both then it is a Lazerlite KZ84 or Survivor as they used the same frame, just built up differently.

If 1 1/8th for top and 1 1/4 for down tube then it will be the Nova or as sold over here the Super Nova (2nd edition version).
