Lovin the frame. What year is it? Are they the original decals? Im guessing its a pre Widowmaker S&M cruiser frame, going on the downtube decal, but the headtube and fork stickers are much newer.

tbh I dont really like the VG stuff, and even the stem looks a bit out of place (but what better one is there to use?). The frame and forks are great, and the cranks and tires are spot on. Very clean looking pads too, are they old ones or repros?

the frame is 89-90ish. the fork is a year or so later. the decals on the frame are correct repros. the headtube decal is og. the seat tube decal is incorrect but this is what I had... I have the correct fork but it will not allow the 24 x 2.125 tire. the pads are the old-school ones that I am going to switch back out with my dirty ones. there are only 4 or 5 of these frames known to be in collectors hands world-wide... and Alex though you will find VG parts on all of my builds I am really not feelin them on this one either but for now they will stay for lack of better replacements...

Wow, that is nice, and cool to read that you found such a rare frame  :daumenhoch:

The black pedal cages and wheels look great - are they Araya Aero rims?

I have spent the last few years trying to collect all the 1" S&M frame models. That pre Widowmaker Cruiser is one of the frames I have never even attempted to get cos I knew it would never come up.

Very nice, and you really dont see many of them!

Wow, I must have missed it ... or it came at a bad time (is there ever a good time?).

I know of 2 widowmakers in the UK (including mine) and have seen a few in the US. Ive only seen 2 of those frames, and they might have been the same one

See, like I said. Loads of widowmakers ... hardly any of the earlier 24"ers.

Hey, JJ, is that widowmaker you know Neal Woods old one? He had one that he tested in Ride magazine, along with a challenger. I think they were both the first ones in the UK cos Neal bought them both over.

Get some pics of it and I will scan in the test he did in ride. I think the shot of the bike (or maybe the challenger) has got Neal stood next to it with his trousers round his ankles?
