Post by: kev-s on May 27, 2008, 04:55 PM
anyone else here  hate noisy drivers? it does my head in all that clicikin so a about 6 months ago i removed my driver and smeared a load of copper grease into the hub where the driver sits, refitted the driver and spun the wheel then removed the driver and wiped away all the excess copper grease from the bearings and hub shell, refitted the driver and hey presto its so much quieter and ive never had any probs with it since :daumenhoch:

done similar, did have an issue with it making the cranks go round when I was rolling forward.

Just made the chain really tight to fix that

i know what u mean about shimano freewheels, i have so much more confidence in my shimano freewheel on my holmes  than my driver set up on my blackbike and the shimano feels so more solid and strong

Mavic do some pawl specific oil. Some grease may cause a slip or 3  :daumenhoch:
