Does anyone know whether early 80's Robo Pro bars had the machined gripping area where the bars actually sit in the stem, or were they just smooth? And would the early 80's bars have been stamped in some way?
Cheers to anyone who can help.

smooth stem area and sometimes (not always) "pro" under where the grips go :daumenhoch:

Nice one. They do have the 'pro' stamp under grip area but also the machined stem area?
Would they be early 80's or late 80's do you reckon?

if they are exactly the same shape with the same thin cross bar they are still early ones 83ish at a guess, the later ones had a slightly beefier cross bar and the bends to the top where not as flimsy looking as the early ones and the rake of the bars were straighter. fantastic bars whatever, and the "pro" under the grip makes em sound genuine enough to me

I think my later Pro bars were knurled. Prone to crushing a little round the stem clamp area too. The decals are originals, not sure of the year.

Bought in 1983 by my own fair hands......
No Knurling. No Pro Stamping. Just 2 Ist Gen "R" decals on front and back opposite sides.
These are the earliest Robinson Pro Bars. (proper ones rather than the silly rake swept back things from 1980 they did)
