I’m pretty sure I have stuffed up here…..
A couple of weeks ago I bought a frame from ebay (Mutiny Sinister 21” Raw) and while I was waiting I ordered lots of bits. I’ve just put the front end together but when I came to look at the bottom bracket it all looks a bit wrong….Before the frame arrived I checked on the Internet and everywhere a Mutiny Sinister is listed as having a Mid BB therefore that’s what I bought……
If you look at the photo there’s the frame and the sealed bearing that came with the BB and there is quite a difference…. anybody any ideas (I only have an 84 Mongoose and 90’s Ripper to compare it to which is not much use)

If you measure the frame it’s about 50mm….how are Winstanleys at taking bits back :(
Thanks
Stuart

looks like a usa bb if so ya just need the cups for em
wot cranks ya running as may have a used pair of profile ones spare
-
USA bb's are about 52 mm. I would think thats what it is.Just call w stanleys and swap bb set for a usa one. They sent me an incorrect item once but swapped it within 24 hours.I've never had any problem with them.
-
yep voodoocars is right , 52 mm is the standard US
compare it to your current bikes
id be checking the ebay ad as if it should have mid and youve been sent a US you might have got an older frame than what you should have
-
just went to measure my cups and cant find em
then missus as just told me she has chucked the box with all my spare parts in
-
Pm me your address and I'll send you over a set of cups that'll sort your problem out.

Thanks Everybody,
I can not really complain about the frame it was second hand from eBay and it only cost me 50 and it came with a usable headset as well (and I think the guy that sold it was expecting a lot more). I just wanted to build something cheap to mess about on and Im pretty tall some it was Ideal. The listing does not 07 anyway I think I picked that up from an email I sent.
Anyway, keeping on the cheap theme this what I bought, its all included crank, bearing, the lot (only it doesnt fit).

They sent me the wrong saddle anyway so Im need to return stuff but I might give the cups ago if you think it will work..(Cheers Longun :))
Thanks
Stuart

How olds the frame?
If its fairly new it should have a mid size bb
-
Does the bearing you've got have a size on it or on the packaging somewhere?
Winstanleys are notorious for sending out orders wrong, could be they've sent you a spanish bb set
-
I have measured the bearing and its 40mm (but the box was not sealed)
-
its a usa bb,
the early sinister's came with it,
i spotted a ride test of this frame while looking for something else last night :daumenhoch:
-
you should get the cups in the morning.

Looks like an '05 Mutiny Sinister frame to me, they came in raw, various stickers, with US bb.
I rode a black '05, nice frame, very solid and nice guys running the company.
