Title: Bars and crank choice?
Post by: pickle on June 02, 2008, 08:27 AM
okey dokey, i've got some fundidge that's come my way and i fancy a new set of cranks and some bars that are wider than the (what feels like) 10 inch ones i have already!

so i'm liking the look of these (as i fancy the Raw style)

maybe these in Chrome?

http://www.customriders.com/prodshow.asp?prodid=2534&cat=7&parent=1001&sid=3

interested in what you guys think?  oh and by the way the reason i've used CR for the links is because i can go there tonight from work  :daumenhoch:

Cant ever go wrong with Slams. Nice one.
Have you thought about the S&M Race bars? Same shape as slams but thinner tubing, so lighter.

Of course, dont forget UKs finest, BSD. 3 bar sizes to choose from.

I've got those cranks, had them a couple of months, seem fine so far.

Absoulute bugger to get on the first time, but after they've been on and off a few times, they're fine.

Profile, Profile, Profile, or failing that................er Profile!  ;D  We the people Royals also heard good things about, and cheaper than the "P"s.
Both available in chrome, in fact i think you can get the WTP's in raw which would look superb on your bike Rob.

As for bars, dont know about that, its a minefield! Tall, short, thin, wide?

Sean.

but profiles are about £150 aint they?  not really planning on spending that sort of cash for cranks to be honest

:) Slam Bars all the way-many lighter variations out too! As for cranks,I had a new set of Profiles recently, they were so badly machined that I sent them back.Don`t know if I was just unlucky but the quality was really poor compared to prwevious sets I have owned.....

thanks for all your feedback guys, although i did say that the reason i used CR links was because i can go there from work instead of ordering online and not being in when the stupid postie knocks at 11:30 or something  ;)

as for w@nkstanleys??  i'd rather stick forks in my testicles than order anything off them!!   :2gunsfiring_v1:

i just liked the look of the Royals and in Raw they would look the nuts on my proclaimer!  i've heard good things about em too!

i don't know, they might be able to.........but are they THAT much better than the royals?  and i like the Raw finish rather than chrome.........although the Royals come in that too  :daumenhoch:

i thought that was strange too maybe ask em why and let me know,  profiles are the crank that most companies copy, at the end of the day buy what u think you will be happy with thats the main thing :daumenhoch:

How do you feel about Macneil conjoined crank's...??

They are light as fook... if weight is an issue!!

Thanks for posting the pics up Paul, dam work and blocking photobucket!   >:(

still need a spacer for the non drive side but i've got it at home......and need a slimmer spanner so i can get the pedals off the old cranks......but the crappy phone camera doesn't do the cranks justice!  they're gorgeous and match the frame perfectly  :smitten:
