I have just used plast cote paint for the first time, I flatted the paint down so now it's dull, I was just wondering if you can laquer over theis type of paint or if you need to polish it to bring back the shine,
cheers
-
plasti-cote do a metalic sealer, used it on Tamiya model paint no problems.
-
Ah, so is that like laquer spray?
Thanks
-
I would not bother yet as plasticote is high shine anyway, I would have a go at polishing back up with Compound Polish
-
nice one I'll give that a go, strange stuff that plasti cote!
-
You can lacquer over the top of PlastiKote. I used Plastikote spray on my SE Helmet followed by Plastikotes own lacquer.

nice lid, I might try that then cheers, it's weird the paint still feels like it would peel off easily if i scratched it, sort of wet, does it normally take days before it's fully set?
-
Paint can take days to fully harden, I have even baked bits in the oven before ::)
-
As long as it dries eventualy that's cool, I better not go near the oven I'm already getting complaints about taking over the kitchen with bike parts and tools :LolLolLolLol: but it is tempting >:D
-
I painted the lid one weekend and lacquered it the weekend after. It felt a lot better then.

I looked at the cranks today, feels less like it would peel off easily now, didn't realize plasti kote can take long to dry :daumenhoch:
