Post by: Stella Dave on June 08, 2008, 07:00 PM
How the fek do you set up the pads so one aint rubbing?? All new to me these brakes.

Also chainwheel is catching on chain, does it need a spacer?

whats it rubbing on, the tyre!

hombres do a front and rear brake, the front has shorte arms so you may have the wrong one

i don't get the last bit! the chain runs on the chainwheel

The brakes have a spring in them that you tension via the outer nut then tighten the inner allen bolt to keep the spring tension. It should be just enough to spring the pad from the rim.As for the chain bit I'm not sure what you mean but if the chain is not in alignment with the rear sprocket then it may well 'rub'.

cheers.

Sorry, chain one i meant when you pedal the chain is coming off as it's too far to one side and not landing dead centre on chainwheel. It needs adjusted but not sure how

I aint to hot on these new builds either but you may need some washers to space it out, does it run true is it on securely?
