Title: Another find for me, doing well aint i.
Post by: southern andy on June 12, 2008, 07:29 PM
Got my Hutch yesterday and this today.

I'm sure this is complete, please let me know otherwise.

Falcon pro cruiser, serial number 4206513 on one drop out and on the other drop out GO784.

It's chrome but someone has spray painted it black and couldn't be arsed to remove the pads when they did it. The black spray is falling off, my kids are doing it now.

Your thoughts on this pile of whatever please :LolLolLolLol:  Something different i suppose

tell us the story ?

Basically i was collecting  Mail from business on a local industrial estate and saw it up against a fence, was looking at it when the kiddy came around the corner. A quick chat revealed his own BMX was knackered so his dad bought him this from the local dump for a tenner. I offered to buy it for £20 and he said OK but when his own bike was fixed.

Six weeks later, it's still there every day and his bikes not fixed, reckons he was going to get a new F+F instead, i offered him a swap. That for my sons knackered bright yellow Ruption BMX. I fixed the Ruption up and give it a good going over and today we swapped.
As it was my sons old bike i gave him, my son has taken to this big style and is demanding its his and wants to do all the work on it. Cant argue with that really and he can probably teach me something or two. He's only 13yrs old. :LolLolLolLol:

Funnily enough, the guy has resprayed it really badly but he works for a powder coaters :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Mr Dibbly has already replied mate and said it was a falcon Pro epsilon.

Personally i've never heard of it and i've goggled aswell now, still no joy with info or pictures.

thats a winner of a find dude, il get the pics of the decals off soon man, it seems like its complete spec, apart from the stem and bars...it should have V bars and the stem has to be a horse shoe shape stem also the tyres should be red tread tioga comp 3 type tread with gum wall sides and red rims and hubs...its a good job you got the rear hub man coz they are a bugger to find the grips are also red,

I could do with the measurements of the pads etc il trade you pics of the decals for pics of the pads please mate  :daumenhoch:

Heh Moley that's the same as me.

Me and my best mate ended up getting the Theta's for Christmas one year then pee'd off the parents by taking the decals off straight away ;D.

We couldn't afford a pot to pee in back then so a catalogue bike it was and to be honest it wasn't all bad once the parts had started to be swapped out and upgraded.

Same as mate, got my theta for Crimbo from a local bike shop, them were the dayz :smitten:

Cruiser looks like a good project, nice shape, not too low slung like modern ones :daumenhoch:

I have a NOS set of the pads in white with red lettering if anyone is interested
Title: Re: Another find for me, doing well aint i.

The pads size them Dibly are

Frame pad = 300mm long X 180mm wide

Bar pad = 300mm long X 140mm wide.

The tyres on my sons are Kenda Comp 3, i reckon they are well over 20yrs old mate, the rims are chrome with CNC etched inside them.
The pedals have a four leaf clover sort of emblem on the outside of them.???????????????????????

That's a great find. They do pop up from time to time, by that i think i've probably seen 5 or 6 so it's as rare a beast as is any old skool cruiser.

I look foward to seeing the finished product  :daumenhoch:

ingylevi, I really liked my Falcon Pro Theta!!!  :smitten:

It might have been a generic frame from some far eastern land!!

But lots of frames were!!!

Being my 1st BMX, I have a soft spot for it.

My parents bought me one for Christmas too.

Christmas day riding in the snow!!!

Brilliant!!!!!

Them were the days!!!!

Absolutely they were!!!

If someone has one, I'd buy it!!!!  :daumenhoch:

Nice find Southern Andy!!!

And it was the epsilon!!!!

I knew Dibly would know as he's a huge Falcon Pro fan!!

Enjoy!!!  :daumenhoch:

My thirteen year old son is using it to ride to school on, he won't be racing on it. He has a GT for that.

Also, he has worked his nuts off on this project mate and i mean bloody hard, he's well chuffed with the out come considering the state it was on.
Thanks for telling him it's a pile of shit though and shooting his hard work down in flames, good on yer sport.  :daumenhoch:

Just waiting on stickers and some valve caps for the wheels.  The rear brake cable has now been replaced since the last piccy was taken if anyone noticed it was on the wrong side of the frame. That one wasn't long enough.

We still have the original bits but we have replaced most parts with the bits from a Hutch i have.

Nice work, that looks like a great bike and some real hard work has gone into it; you son should be proud of his efforts.

It's all too easy to slag off a build with BMX snobbery but wgias what others think; if you like it fook em as it's only what you think that counts  :daumenhoch:.

What was your 1st bike?

As a kid, my Falcon Pro Theta handled pretty much everything I threw at it.

Some of the components didn't i.e. cranks etc, etc.  But I never had a problem with the frame and forks although the forks were replace by some tange ones when I got ranover and my forks got bent into the frame.

I think you will find most OS bikes would snap eventually.  Thats why they dont make em like they used to!!!

And the welds were better than on some bikes too.

Nice bike and a good build!!!:daumenhoch:

Real good story  :daumenhoch:

It already has been, this bike was completed back in July and i think was entered in either July or Augusts competition.

It was re-bumped as a thread as another Falcon Pro cruiser has been found by someone else and work is just about to start on it.
