Morning lads... Ok a bit more hard graft last night and here it is. The frame/forks/bars all originally come from the states a couple of years ago and its been sitting in my loft ever since. The frame and forks are ORIGINAL survivor chrome. I'd say its 8.5/9 out of 10. I just had the bars rechromed and the GT stamped seat post. The whole thing is very shiny and blingy indeed . I have tried to bolt on to it as many original GT parts as I could find, including an original GT Epoch headset. Only thing which is new is the twin-pinch redline crank but I personally like it. Many of you traditionalists will bollock me but I had a word with JT a while back and he said use whatever you want... and personally, I couldn't bring myself to spend £200 on a set of cranks anyway ;) And they do look quite nice I have to say. About time I got a bike ready. The Torker 2 and Ammaco Freestyler are basically done too, these i'll try and photograph and get up later. This one I will enter in the bike of the month and see how it goes ::). Even though I love my Haro's and Ammaco's, I can't help but think this is the bike I should have tried to get BITD, it just feels so nice and solid... love it :smitten:
Would like to say some thank you's to Rhys (tools/advice), Gary (advice), Rob - Pickle (advice), Mark J (bolts), Del (for the decals) and Burnersforlife (padset)... cheers lads :daumenhoch:
Parts run-down:
Early 1985 GT Pro Performer frame/forks/bars
GT Stamped layback seat post
GT Epoch alloy headset with Tange headlock
GT stamped tyres
Repop GT Padset
Dia-compe MX 1000 brakes with Tech 4 levers and dia-compe cables
MX seat clamp
Skyway Tuff II wheels with skyway tuff pads
Suntour and Skyway Axle nuts
Tuf Neck stem
Redline crank with Redline chainwheel
Kashimax seat
2 colour Mushroom grips with original Flite checked donuts
Ody shark bite pedals
Anyway I hope you like it. So want to ride it but those tyres are far too minty ;)
Cheers,
Matt :daumenhoch:

I wish i could be patient enough to wait for all the right coloured bits to come along, mine just end up a right mish mash of differant colours.... :LolLolLolLol:

Has taken ages mate. I waited and waited and finally after 2 years got all me bits, well apart from the right pedals which I will change Pete, promise ;) Yeah the epoch headset was the toughest to get and especially in that condition and that was an ebay purchase over here for £5! I think the guy put it under the wrong category etc... was a bargain and half! Frame has cleaned up nicely, close up it still shows some scratches and battle scars but I like that in a frame. Overall very pleased with it and glad you like it :daumenhoch:

by the way that chrome on is soo clean it looks spot on :daumenhoch:

very nice indeed Matt. Nice change from the powdered ones .... :daumenhoch:
as for 3 v 4 hole, I think that US made frames had 3, overseas had 4 holes.... But I'm no expert

very nice matt :daumenhoch:

When Rob (rarman) popped over a while back to see this frame/forks he did say that even though its an 85 with 4 holes, its still US made because of the serial and a few other bits which only he would know as that man is a GT expert imo :D Glad you like it lads :). After Shimano SX's in blue now to complete this off nicely :daumenhoch:
