I have a newly chromed frame that needs a bit of a finishing polish around some of the hard to reach at the chromers detail bits, can someone recomend a good non abrasive polish just to finish show chrome off. thanks :daumenhoch:

Brasso, Autosol , T-cut + elbow grease. Who did the chrome and how much was it?

'Peak' is a great finisher.

yep, i use Autoglym :)

If it's just been chromed you should be using windowlean glass cleaner or a similar glass cleaning product :)

doug taylor re-finishing, weston super mare, not cheap for frame forks and bars.

I agree, if it's just been rechromed you shouldn't need to use anything like Autosol or Autoglym as they're too abrasive. Windolene will do the trick.

is the window cleaner the best way to "preseve" chrome ?
i dont want to ever be getting that all too familiar rusty haze at the welds
im not after a show finish but keeping the rust off . i have been using gt85 , is that good enough ?

No, it just cleans it mate, maybe try a car body wax?

I recently bought a rusty 83 GT Performer from the states and took to it with Autosol from the car shop. I spent a few hours on it but it looks mint now so Autosol get's my vote. Keep it away from anything printed like Peregrine rims cos it'll take the print straight off- JJ

My chromer always said no no to autosol as it's abrasive and to use windolene as it pulls the grease off. He knows arses from elbows and he has two holidays a year.

I sell cars for a living and i'm on a permanent holiday at the mo if that counts as anythin! Although i'm not on holiday through choice. Want to buy a car?

If its a spot of brassing in tight areas the chances are you wont shift it with any kind of polish. for general blingness I use autoglym and after a couple of coats it looks superb
"brassing in tight areas " that just sounds wrong :LolLolLolLol:

Looks like your Mr Hitler might be brassing it a little!!!! ???
