Here are the facts so far: The surgeon was satisfied with the way the op went.
Afterwards he was in intensive care heavily dosed with morphine etc.
Moved from intensive care to a ward but it was deemed too soon so he went back into intensive care today where he is now.
He remains heavily sedated but stable & not causing undue concern to the hospital staff.
Obviously he has been through a very major op & it is very early days.
One step at a time is the way to look at this so please pray for him.
Hard to know what else to say really.
I'm going in to see him tommorow & will pass on all the messages that get left here, i'm sure they will help.
He's a strong fella so i'm sure he'll win this 'race'

Say hello to Tony from me and the boys. We had planned to get up to see him this morning but obviously this latest development has prevented that. Can't do Thursday but Friday looks a definite maybe. I'll contact Nikki before we travel though. Wish the big guy well and tell him I've got a big man-hug for him when I see him. Stay strong Tony, we're all there for you mate. Humps

Tony is out of intensive care today (wed) & sitting up in bed & even managing to feed Lilly Ann!! ;D
Sitting up is really good news as it stops the build up of fluid on the lungs!!
I'll post more later after i've been in to see him.

Please send Ratty my regards, Keith :daumenhoch:

Went to see Tony last night, he was looking quite well but has some recovering to do, the Morphine was doing its job really well!! ;)
He was telling me that the bmx community are in uproar about the valve caps i'm using and that he has 87 vans on the road now!! :)
He's being really brave with constant injections etc & is in good spirits, he's very tired though, falling asleep mid sentance several times.
He has family around him & is being well looked after & hopefull of being home by the weekend.
Overall its very good news. :) :) :)
-
cheers for keeping us updated you sure you wasnt boring him thats why he was falling asleep :LolLolLolLol:
-
tell tony to stop taking the little brown tablets ,the tiny ones they wont help when you want to go to the loo
they kinda bind you up the injections in his stomach will sooth as it all becomes numb stops the clots forming.

Well, i've just got in from the hospital and we've had a much more positive day.
After a very lethargic start and a bollocking from me he finally got himself motivated enough to get out of bed and walk to his chair where he sat all day!!!!
Tonight he's been walking un aided without a 2nd thought, had a shower, wandered off down a corridor and had a row with me because he couldn't have a ciggie so all in all he's getting back to normal quickly :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
The memories are still a little hazy, the hospital have withdrawn all drugs except paracetamol and gradually he's making more sense :daumenhoch:
Tomorrow fingers crossed the surgeon will OK him to come home, god help you all then cos you'll have to put up with random posts til he's fully normal :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
-
Does that mean the fixed him properly ?
He has never been normal.......... :2funny: :2funny:

Saw Tony this morning at the hospital and he's in good spirits though still a trifle confused. He thinks he's due to be operated on next Monday so seems to have lost a week. Nikki's hoping to take him home today, if he's not there already by now, for some r & r. Have to say I was impressed with the hospital - how the other half live!! Humps

Hopefully those at Hayes tomorrow will be able to give Tony their best wishes when he makes an appearance around midday. I've got Josh & Emanuelle's bikes and I'm picking them up to get there early for practice, registration, etc. then Nikki will be bringing the Ratster along later. He was looking good tonight when I called in but I understand his head rattles when he walks where they must have taken a Starrett cutter to his cranium and forgot to stick the plug back in!! ;) Humps
