Title: Answer Proforx resto project.
Post by: revcore on January 07, 2006, 03:33 AM
My Answer Proforx are to be my new resto project but I'm after a little advice. My forks are silver with the alloy fork crown, I've polished the crown and the 4 bolts and the steerer and the fork brace, But I'm unsure about what do do about the outer fork legs. They are in okay condition (A few scratches and the stickers aren't the best) but I was thinking of polishing them up to a chrome finish. Can anyone advise me on the best way to tackle this please?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i might be being dumb, but what material are you trying to polish?

It's alloy but it appears to have some sort of protective coating or something on it. It's not anodised. I would like to be able to get them back to raw alloy then begin polishing.

probably laquer or plastic coating. i would try nitromors, ot a good heat gun and wire brush.
