Goodmorning all.
Can anyone tell me if this is a mark 1 Haro freestyler serial number please.
TPP1873
Many thanks
Si.

I have a Haro Group One.
I haven't a clue what year it is.
It has a Bend in the TT and is OS Legal with no lugs.
Would anyone be able to tie the year down for me?
or are there too many variations in the late 80's and early 90's?
-
HiYa
It is a Torker Built Gen 2 Freestyler - July 1983
Full Serial should read - TPP 1873 F
Hope this helps.

Hi J.
Thanks very much mate. How on earth did you find that out so quickly!!!!! Do you have lists of all the serial numbers for old bikes.
So a gen 2 torker built freestyler is a good buy then, or is a gen 1 the holey grail?
Many thanks again.
Si.

Gen 1 Is Definitley The Holy Grale Of Haro's But A Gen 2 Torker Built Freestyler Is Still An Excellent Buy!, I Actually Think They Are Getting Quite Rare And Hard To Find? ??? ???

Thanks dude.
Whats diffrent from the gen one to the gen 2 apart from the obvious.

Im Not Quite Sure, Your Better Of Asking Somebody Like Rom Bloke As He Does Own Quite A Few Of Gen 1's :daumenhoch:

Hi Si
Have you got any more information and some pictures of this bike? Please post them.
Can you also list any details that you know of it - location, damage, components etc.
The basic's are Haro had 2 generations / models for each build that was made by Torker. So 2 versions of Freestyler, 2 versions of Master, and 2 versions of Sport.
Gen 1 Freestyler's start at a serial below 800 (from the data gathered so far, the only 3 to exist are all below 450).
The model you have listed has a Brother/Sister with serial 1872 (this is the build number).
Quite a few people like them, but there are nearly 70 around and not that rare.
You can PM if preffered.

I'm a right saddo when it comes to gen1's... :LolLolLolLol:
Think Dom Phippsio ended up buying it, it could have changed hands since then though?

does the head tube gusset look like this
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/v255/rombloke/DSCF0022.jpg)
i suspect it does...
some would say this is a gen 2, (gem) but personally i still think its a gen 1, just slightly uprated, the original ones from the factory had no weld between the gusset and the head tube, later it was fully welded.
and yes...i got a couple

Just out of interest how are they dated from the serial number?
Apart from the build number theres no obvious pattern? mines on the register TKK 3339 F

Hi
To cut a long story short I collected all the serials I could about 3 years ago (and have done ever since). Moose had also been trying to crack the code.
I finally put all the serials in a list and with some juggling and dozens of hours inputting data worked out and identified new generations and also the months for all builds.
Some of the models are available here - http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z96/Haro_Registry/
The list has the possibility to be a 1 or 2 months out, as more serial numbers are still required.
Can all members that have a Torker built Haro please PM or post Serials and a picture in (lots have changed hands and it would be geat to keep the list going) - http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=16464.0
Haro codes go back to front, so T (is for Torker) KK is month of build (this is between AA and YY - with YY the earliest) so the month and year for yours can be worked out as December 1983 and finally the F is for Freestyler.
So a Torker built Gen 2 Haro Freestyler (sorry Dave) built December 1983 and build numer 3339 (this is total built not just Gen 2 Freestyler).
Example - Gen 1 Masters carry on the build number and Month coding but Gen 2 Masters carry the serial coding but not month - this is numerical). Sports had their own Serial format but the Gen 1 had the Alpha coding, and Gen 2 Sports the numerical coding like the Gen 2 Master.
WoW - :D it's been a while, but hope that is clear.
PS - Can you please post some pictures etc and list any damage etc and also price paid etc (PM if preffered).
Thanks
J.

F*ckin ell Dave you fu*ckin pervert!! How many you bloody got you greedy man.
Many thanks for all you info. The reason i started this thread was whilst i was checking my "Watching" items on ebay i noticed that an auction for a gen 1 haro freestyler had ended without any bids. I wondered whether it didnt go because it was a snide. So i posted the serial number hopeing to find out more. Low and behold it seems that one of you lot got your hands on it before it even went to auction, suprise suprise. ha ha.
Anyway thanks again, and now i no what to look for when i eventually get my mits on one, unless greedy dave gets his mittens on it first!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha ha ha , greedy boy. :2funny:
