Hey guys
Need a little help making a call on the brake calipers. I know they are MX1000 just can tell if the a chrome or white. I am starting to think white as it looks like the decals are black. What do you think.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Look white, but levers are chrome. Defo look like white calipers though (compare to chrome headset).

I don't think it's a white calliper. It seems to be catching the same light as the chainwheel/ other shiny bits etc.
Also it looks different to the brake blocks. The top bearing cup looks different to it as it's shaded by the number plate.
I'd say it's a Pro class calliper, with black decal in shiny silver... :) G.

I know they are deffo Dia Compe as I have been researching this bike with Maurice Meyer (Curb Dogs) He identified most of the parts for me. He has even helped me with the Decals for plate.
Thanks Grem. Just need to determine white or silver

I can't ID the tyres!

Do you remember the add for those slick tyres? (I think it was for those). It had a photo of a track motorbike going low round a corner, next to it a photo of Vander doing the same thing on his BMX.
(que someone to post up a scan of the add ...)

Lets look at the evidence here. I've seen another pic of this bike but in a slightly different guise. It had WHITE wheels on and the calipers were definately WHITE.
I'ts in a mag somewhere so either someone find it or i'll look when i get a chance....
Thats not enough for some people i know,so until then, lets look at some facts.
You couldnt buy Silver or Chrome Dia Compe MX1000 with Black Decals. They were RED.Replacement decals for these weren't easy to come across BITD and repro men didnt have much of a market,so i doubt they were anything other than stock. They DEFINATELY came on white. I sold so many pairs of the damn things while working as Saturday Boy and Holidays etc,i remember vividly.
Look at the brake pads too..They are WHITE. (ties in with the photo i've seen where he was running WHITE wheels) Maybe he broke a white rim and switched to black temporarily...
Who in their right mind would run white blocks normally on black mags?
Also theres not one hint of reflection on that caliper whereas anything else shiny on the bike HAS reflection coming from all directions.
That bike is LOADED with some hot gear.
Can you imagine Vanders using sh1tty Lee Chi so called "Pro Class" calipers... ???
Ummm,no,me neither.
If he did,are you go gonna tell me those are Welgo DX's too?
For what it's worth,I rest my case : WHITE. :daumenhoch: ;D
