i have 3 sets on the way, i will compare them to my original ones, apparently the repops are made from the same mold as the old ones

Just received delivery of my repro mongoose grips (all 3 available colours red, blue and black - he's not doing yellow!) and i have to say thay are pretty fookin good ! Compared them to my originals on my supergoose 2 and they are identical except for one small detail - on the inside of the grip rim face next to where the bar enters, the originals have 7/8" embossed in them where as the new ones have R (possibly to indicate reproduction ?) other than that they are exactly the same and for that price they are perfect for a mogoose build - cost me 45 quid to get all 3 colours including postage all the way from the states and took less than a week to arrive.
Hope this helps folks .................
-
where as the new ones have R (possibly to indicate reproduction ?)
that was the one thing they had to do
and its supposed to be a softer modern material
so not as hard as the orig grips - which is nice
£15 a throw not too bad at all
considering what pukka grips can sting ya for :)
-

over VBMX they were saying they found the original moulds and maker :daumenhoch:

Now you come to mention it they do feel a little softer than the original grips - but not too soft !
-
my 3 sets landed today, and the material is much softer than the originals they feel like ame tri
the quality is good but not brilliant there are a couple of things, they have 2 pin holes on the end of each grip and the overall finish is not as clean as the originals but for the price they are great. i would stick with the genuine grips on a prized build though
-
Yeah I understand what matskybeat is sayin about a prized build and using originals - i needed yellows and forked out a packet for them myself but not sure where your comin from on the "2 pin holes on the end of each grip" thing - i've got original team goose yellows in original mongoose packaging and original red survivors and they both have the 2 nipple dots on the end of 'em - maybe yours have worn off ?
Anyways each to there own - if your building an early goose these will definitely look better and feel truer than some AME's etc.
Peace
-
Oh yeah - i forgot - nice build jim - sweet supergoose 3 - didn't mean to diss your AME's bud just a fan of the goose grips myself :LolLolLolLol:
-
Started a new topic about the grips with a picture so others can chip in :
