I was just chatting to a guy on ebay today who mentioned Curtis in his ad, so I asked him if he still had it, (a curtis pro) he told me it was all really rusty so he took it to the tip!!!! I was just wondering about all of the great bikes that have been made, I wonder how many have just been dumped and have now been recycled into cars or bridges...
:D

:) Too many! About 9 years ago,I asked my mum about some bits I`d left. She told me it had all gone on the tip.GHP Pro frame & forks, boxes of wheels, bars, cranks,racegear-a whole bloody treasure trove! .......
-
I picked up a kuwi ET complete from the tip a few years back for £2 or£3
:) DINGO :)

my aero pro came from the tip as well

There must of been a golden time for tip finds. When everyone had finished with there bikes, left home, gone to college or uni and the parent did the "garage cleansing" thing. As the age group on here is quite similar give or take 5 years it must have been during a similar time frame....
-
not enough MKII Burners that's for sure! ;)
-
I reckon mid to late 90's. The bikes not moved from the garage for 10 years, and you know your never gonna ride it again. Finally agree to it going to the tip.

Over at my in-laws there is an Ammaco 202 chrome in the shed. The wifes dad never ever throws anything away, so it would have been tip fodder from any normal family years ago. It was my bro-in-laws and he says I can have it if I want it.
I can see it, just cant be arsed to dig it out from under all the other worthless crap thats been kept.
-
just imagine the tips in around 1992-4 :smitten: we all could have made a packet, plus i dont even think they charged back then, i saw a chrome bmx this sunday i walked over realy excited , it turned out to be a cheap bit of crap :-\ looked like a TA from a distance :(

I didnt know you could look round the tip
-
At my local tip there is a "recycling centre" where the tip workers make pocket money selling on the stuff you dump.
-
I threw my Craig Campbell prolite and a falcon cruiser on the tip , about 5 years ago. :D

There's one at ours aswell, fair play to them i say. I'm always up there rummaging through the bikes. Always seems to be kids bikes and mountain bikes when i go though.

Yup I think its great idea, but I've never found anything decent there..

Made a loss on my Burner

I went off to the Army in 86 and the old dear sold my bike in about 88 for..........£60!!! Fully loaded PC went to some muppet who probably still has it somewhere propping up his shed or something......dark days...
