I've just thrown this together but I'm struggling to like it and not sure why ... I must be going mad in my old age :crazy2:
Naff pedals and crankset I know but they'll be changed when rebuilt after a re-chrome

Maybe it's the white Tuffs or layback post :-\ blue Panaracers perhaps ??? I don't know :uglystupid2:
Opinions please :daumenhoch:

i love it magnificent :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Its the tuffs. I would take them off and skip them......infact i tell you what take em off and post em to me. I will get rid of them for u :daumenhoch:
I think it looks sweet
-
I't looks sweet, the white tuffs on a gen1 look great but I reckon it's the layback that makes it look a bit funny. I've always thought of laybacks on racers. :-\
-
I would leave the White Tuffs, to many Gen 1s with Black Tuffs
But having said that if you do want to trade those Tuffs for some Black alloy hubs tuffs LMK ;)
But leave the White Tuffs on :daumenhoch:
-
love it, looks good to me. and i LIKE one piece cranks,.
friggin sweet bike.
-
I think you have lost it... :LolLolLolLol: how can you not love that :smitten:
-
Change the sh1te pedals and whack a chain on, coaster wheelie it down the street with a fro wig on and job done imho :daumenhoch:
:) DINGO :)
-
Bin the seatpost. Otherwise its a nice looking bike :daumenhoch:

I've just looked at the the HARO's in the museum and most of em have got laid backs on so shows what I know :-[
Maybe it just needs a chain ;)
What cranks are going on it . Flights?
-
I swear ive seen a bike like that before!!! :LolLolLolLol:

nice Steve ! Very nice ! 8)

Looks pretty good to me Steve :daumenhoch: :smitten:

:smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

think we've got used to seeing get 1's with regular seat posts, redline flights and black or graphite tuffs,
like the white tuffs, but maybe a straight post and 401's would make it seem normal again,
but thats getting very very picky,
nice bike :smitten: :smitten:, doesnt seem to need a re-chrome :4_17_5:
-
i've never ever seen a Gen 1 with spoked wheels
-
steve leave as is looks sweet mate
-
i think its rubbish and to redeem yourself you should post it to me for disposal......................FACT
-
Looks good to me steve... definitely leave the white tuffs... ;)
-
I think the white tuffs look great on a gen 1. I kin hate vector bars though but that's just me. :daumenhoch:
-
I wouldn't change a thing... ( maybe some Redline's )
It looks AMAZING!!
Great job!!! :daumenhoch:
-
gotta contradict evertone here, and say, i think what you cant get your head round is the white wheels on a chrome frame which i think also doesnt quote look right, but its good for looking differant... :daumenhoch:
-
Would just change the pedals, otherwise perfect for me! :smitten: even with the layback post
-
I prefer it with a lay back seat post.
I only went with the crowd with having a straight post. I think the curves in the bars goes with the lay back nicely.
I would have to change the pedals mate to Shim DX's if using a one piece and also GRAB ONS are a must if you ask me. ;)
-
Thanks for your comments guys :daumenhoch:
The OPC will stay ... personally, I prefer them to the more 'flashy' 3-piece sets and that's just how I remember my bikes BITD. I'll leave the white Tuffs and layback seat post on and lose the 'GT' decal too
As mentioned in my 1st post, the pedals are naff and will definitely be replaced when I rebuild the bike after a re-chrome ;)

-
Steve, the reason you don't like it is because it should be mine >:D :LolLolLolLol:
Its the seatpost and Vector bars/stem combo, str8 post and it will look the business :daumenhoch:
Sweet build though and I'm not jealous at all :yahoo_silent:
I'm hoping I might stumble across one of those over here but somehow I think I will be hard pushed to find one :(.
-
there's nothing wrong with that Steve you crazy fool :idiot2:
tis a thing of beauty!
-
i've never ever seen a Gen 1 with spoked wheels
How's this then ... I'm liking the look now :smitten:

NO NO NO!!!
it now looks like it is owned by Andy Ruffell
:) DINGO :)
-
Nope Tuffs :daumenhoch:
-
Don't panic ... the Tuffs are staying ::) the spokes are purely experimental. LOL at the Andy Ruffell comment ;D
-
it now looks like it is owned by Andy Ruffell
And wot the feck is wrong with that then ya cheeky bastid? ;D I do agree though, it needs to be Tuffs on a Gen1. The white ones look v. nice, just get some blue comp 3's for that Mike Dominguez look. :daumenhoch:

i think blue comp st's would look better? or nah?
-
ST's would definately feel better to ride, but Dominguez had blue Comp 3's on his Gen 1 bitd. White Tuffs as well. Bob's bike was nice but I preferred Mike's. Don't know whether it was the white tuffs I liked or the ridiculously high airs he used to do on it at the pipeline :D
-
i think doing a mike dominguez build would make it a change as i do see alot of Bob Haro builds
-
Jay's done the nicest MD replica :smitten:

that gorgeous :smitten: :smitten:
-
Pure BMX filth!! :smitten: You should post a warning first before pics like that. Mind you, it is after the watershed.
-
Jay's Haro builds will take some serious beating ... that's why I think my Gen1 looks like cr@p ???
Steve

i really like it as it was with the white tuffs and black panracers :4_17_5:
