back in 86 or 87 a lot of the top lads had wheel discs/covers on their Skyways, i remember seeing Gt ones and some
that were blank, who has them now or likes/dislikes them :P
-
I Think The Only People That Made Them Were UNI And GT (Correct Me If Wrong!). I Dont Really Like Them I Think They Were Just Created So That Sponsers Were Able To Be More Known, Seen Etc. They Just Look Silly IMO :daumenhoch:
-
I think the Ruler had a/some bikes with em on, may be wrong though. Drop him a pm he will advise :daumenhoch:
-
Acorn made them,as in the acorn mag wheel, big advert in the bmx mags bitd ;)
-
Yep I had a set too BITD on my Haro!
They were also made by SM & specifically for skyways: they fitted perfick! & had a circular cut out for the valve caps, but was still a bitch to get to if you needed air! :)
-
does anyone remember the plate thing that fitted on the front triangle of your frame?
possibly the only thing worse than wheel discs...
i remember trevor cowell used to have one. :idiot2:
-
I rode for a while with a set on my Tuffs but not for long as they were noisey and no fun for jumping if you had a cross wind because the bike blew out from under you. Not made by Skyway though.
-
I seem to remember Fiola riding a demo at Harrow with some on.
-
Fiola did use them for a while and I thought they were cool............ until I saw them in the flesh. They were so noisey, even Bob Haro would sound like a sketchy rider using those.
