My Firebird is now white powdered, and I'm going for blue parts, here's my latest aquisition!

oh and where's the pics of the Delta?
-
Is it a Delta? I just thought it was a Firebird?
Anyway, here's what it was like before I started work:

Then stripped down:

And now powder coated with headset and forks (crank has been added but I haven't took a photo yet):

i don't know.
it appears you are right. it's a firebird not a delta.
kenno informs me the delta has a much more upright seat post.
-
All I know Joe is that it was the first BMX frame and fork set that they made, and I got it from the ad that was in BMX Action Bike in 82/83 for £64.95!
-
AH YES SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.
the firebird indeed.
word has it that "firebird" on here might have the decals.
but your probably already on it.
-
Del has sorted me out with awesome decals, but "firebird" (Steve) is sorting me for pads! :4_17_5:
It's going to be great (I reckon)! :daumenhoch:
-
what blue bits do you need?
-
Soz but I actually don't need any at the mo, I have got;
Blue Tagaki Tourney cranks
White original EZ bars
Chrome GT seat post
Original (from first build back in '83) Shimano DX pedals, SR Diamond back headset and SR seat clamp I'm getting anodised.
Blue Dia-compe 880 brake set.
Blue Skyway Tuff 2s.
Seat (see above ;))

Not that interesting Firebird anecdote - When ABMX tested it, they had 'Mad' Malc Stapleton doing some jumps down at my local track Hayes. To be honest we weren't that impressed, I guess having home turf advantage meant that we had the jumps more dialled, and we were getting higher/more styled than him. Anyway, for one of the shots the photographer wanted to make it look like the bike was on the crest of a hill and impressed onlookers were peering over at it, so I, or at least the top half of my face, got my first appearance in a BMX magazine.

Nice!
My nuts just retracted into my adomen after seeing that photo. They have bad memories of Shot Gun II saddles and the pain inflicted upon them 20-odd years ago :LolLolLolLol:

:LolLolLolLol:
I still have my original blue BMX Aero Jaguar saddle from bitd, but it has seen better days so thought I ought to replace with something great!
-
Shot Gun II is a great looking saddle.
But 9 out of 10 bollocks hate them :LolLolLolLol:
-
the shot gun 2 is one of my favorite saddles
