Bought this f+f off MADDOG last week, it wasn't in bad shape when it arrived but the Decals were a little scuffed.....so i've been giving it a polish and removed all the bashed up decals ready for the new NOS set to arrive from the states :daumenhoch:
i knew nothing about these when i bought it but it has a nice long TT at 21.5 inches (i believe) i still know nothing about them really so if anyone knows anything please let me know. looking at the welds and the build quality it looks like it was an expensive frame BITD........i love it!! :smitten:

Ohh that does look tasty, and might long....
-
yep she's a long'n alright! but i'm 6' 2" so need all the room i can get :daumenhoch:
-
I'm only 5'11", but need the stability in the air. Cant afford any broken bones and time off work. Do you know any history, who raced for them etc etc?
-
They first came out around 1992/3 and were quite popular between 1994 to the late 90s.
I can't really remember who rode for them, but I think Eric Carter (now a 4X rider for Mongoose) might have.
They're still around in America (Donny Robinson rides for them and he's going to the Olympics).
-
thatws lovely rob, the welds are sweet, nice chrome aswell :4_17_5: get her built ;)
-
Nice Rob - you need some nice rims on that fella
-
Cheers Mike, just awaiting to take delivery of mine, thanks to Pickle for saving the deal for me while i was at work.

You're not wrong Mr P, while they can work well they don't last long in my experience. I snapped no end of them bitd >:D
May be alright for a race bike though...?
-
IF a Pitbull is set up right can work a treat, very good and effective brake, also very cheap in comparison to others :daumenhoch:
-
Maybe some of you guys that know about pit bulls would like to give me some advise about set up....never seen one before...until i brought it..were'nt about bitd before i gave up :crazy2:
-

you might want to get a set of decals while you still can. saw a few pairs on ebay recently and right now there is 1 set.sorry if you have already searched ebay and saw these. good luck with the frame.can't wait to see how it looks when it's built :)

Hyper Company information about the evoloution of the name
There are two Hypers. The first Hyper had Greg Grubbs riding for them. They had Red, White and Black uniforms. The rider in one of the adds (Billy Farrell I think) dad started it. The second Hyper started around 1990 by Clay Goldsmid and Erick Weinstetter. The first prototype was featured in BMX Plus! with both owners standing with their pride and joy. Hyper started out making a small batch of two piece frames, the HPR-20. Then the long lasting Metro. Then the Boxster. Erick left the company in 1994. Hyper riders from the early years included (besides Clay and Erick) Billy Harrison (he rode for Privateer/pedalpower also, he was a U local and Pro), Rob Dolecki and Ron Lesnak, two fast AMs out of New Jersey. Then Eric Carter and Brian Foster. In 1993 Eric Carter won the NBL National #1 Pro plate, riding a stock Metro frame.
Original Hyper (NJ) uniforms 1992 where white with purple and green team colors and AXO Racing co-sponsor. 1993 same colors but now JT Racing sponsored the team. 1994 new team colors of Hot pink and yellow. With JT Racing still sponsoring the team.
The first Hyper was in New York and the second Hyper out of New Jersey.

Put my pitbull on today, quite easy to set up once i'd had a quick look at it, and stops the back wheel almost as good as new schoold brakes.
Really happy with initial run around garden, front end feels really long, but comes up well easy, which i was worried about.
Yours is looking well sweet Pickle, mines more of a budget bike that i don't mind throwing up the track when all things go wrong.
Can't wait to see your finished result!!
-
other than the frame and forks mines not cost the earth mate.......running at about £50 so far :daumenhoch:
-
one thing guys, if your a bit of a heavier rider the foks can flex a tad so be warned, me and big plinky nearly fell foul of them
:) DINGO :)
-
mate i don't go fast enough! :LolLolLolLol: but thanks for the heads up :daumenhoch:
i do weigh in at nearly 16 stone so i'll watch em :daumenhoch:
-
dont worry matey
that f/f set are solid
i jumped the big doubles at hartlepool on it
dont flex like the flimsy pro model ,,every thing is beefed up on the pro xl
put it next to mr magoos and see how narrow his rear stays are compared to yours
,,,,bits on way matey
r :daumenhoch:
-
coolio, must admit i thought the rear drop outs look well beefy :daumenhoch:
all i need is the chainwheel dude and she'll be rolling :daumenhoch:
-
pickle that looks lush! wish i bought the f+f of russ now...
-
You're more than welcome to have a go round the track at MK mate :daumenhoch:
