Almost 8pm and no post about it yet?! :wtf: ;)
Who made the A-final in 40+?
Who else won what?
What's the story (morning glory)?
I'm getting withdrawal symptoms as I couldn't race today!
-
Well I'm saying nowt because I was rough as a badger's arse all day. Didn't really try and was like a stroppy child. Other than that, another well organised day's racing at Daggers, thanks all. :)
Kev won the 40+ I remember that much.
-
hey mike 40+ as follows
kev 1st
kieth 2nd
phil 3rd
darren 4th
billy 5th
harvey 6th
rungay 7th
spillers 8th
both me and kev had heavy crashes in our moto's but still pulled it out the bag for a clear 123 finish with kieth
-
Im keen to know 40+ results also as did not go due to stil being injured. Nice one Kev, but did Bill get the 43 odd points he needed to get in front of me, (3rd place or there abouts)? Did Phil manage to beat his next best result giving me a bigger deficit to get in front of him? What happened to Jon & Keith, sounds interesting........
-
Bugger. Going to make you hard for me to get in front of now Phil after that 3rd...... Should be fit for Bournemouth, so all down to that now, if I can muster a 2nd or 3rd by the look of it......
-
I spent the day mostly scrapping and banging bars with lee harrison paul rungay :buck2: made the A final yipeee!got gate 8 (f**kin hate being right out there) :( got a bit scrappy in 1st berm (te-harve and stupple) but was another mad final :daumenhoch:
Poor old kev hit the deck in one of his moto's,in another moto darren boughton stuffed it up the inside of phil on the last berm with phil ending up eating gravel
All in all though it was another mad day in the 40+ and really enjoyed myself :daumenhoch: didn't want to go if i'm honest but glad i did now ;)
-
40+ points from daggers matt
kev 48
kieth 48
phil 43
darren 39.5
billy 34
data from official print out at end of meeting
-
I think there were 167 riders which is pretty damn good considering there was an East Anglia Regional on too which kept them carrot-crunchers away. Started at 1:00ish and finished before 5:00 so well run meeting. Track was a bit rough and bare in places and certainly accounted for a few stacks. 40+ was highly entertaining as was Masters. Humps
-
Don`t worry Matt I`m not going to Bournemouth anyway so your place is safe, untill next season that is :LolLolLolLol:
-
11 of us in the OS, Zippy was getting quite moist at the opportunity to win his first Regional which was then taken away at the last moment by Bernie Scha... something or other...
anyway he normally races 30-39 cruiser on a blue supercross and spanked all our arses on very beautiful early 80's Elf.... but yes Zippy still gets the points...

Interesting 40+ A-final line-up and results. I assume Jon Moore wasn't at this one? Well done Kev on the win and on Roonga making his first A-final this season :daumenhoch:
-
gutted i couldn't make it today.......my bro arranged a big family bash at the last bloody minute!
just cos he's amergrating to NZ! >:(
-
Who won 30-39 and masters ?
-
Great A-final with Bernie, really had to dig dep and up my game somewhat but still managed to give him a very close run.
Just glad he isn't in the OSSS :LolLolLolLol:
-
Who won 30-39 and masters ?
I think it was Tre White in the 30-39 Cruisers, and Martin Parker tripled in his motos and won the final with Nigel White in second :daumenhoch:
-
Knew you were not going to B-Mouth Bill but was still worried in case I dont make make it for what ever reason. Would come to Rad, but only back form holiday on the Saturday night, so will going to the regional, seeing as I will have missed the Saturday night party at Rad, and its 30 miles further to MK.
Phil - Think you have it then. I will have to win every moto and get 2nd in the final to get ahead of you at the last regional, as I have to make up 12.5 points meaning I have to score 45 to manage that. Not impossible but unlikely, & hell im gonna try. If not its been fun chasing you anyway, and enjoyed the banter. Got injured at the wrong time I think, as may have helped my cause a bit today, and left less of a deficit to make up at the last meeting... Roll on the brits and next year.....
-
Martin Parker nipped it on the line to win Masters... (i think)
-
Maters, was a blast today, great drag race down the last straight.
-
by Bernie Scha... something or other...
That's Bernie Schale wearing Todd Lyons' USA shirt from the 2000 Worlds. Reckon he might do the Brits in OS too. How good would that be to see him go up against Jai Kemp!! Humps
-
Pobably the best 40+ final for ages - was really mental, and cant believe that none of us went down.
Really chuffed to make the A final - Very late in the year, but I am chuffed to bits!
Can't wait to see the points.
And I have done enough now to qualify for the brits, so can have some fun on the old schoolbike again! Woohoo!! (Although wayy to late in the season :( )

old Bernie gonna race OS at the Brits what is he clipping in ;D , sadly i won't be racing the OS at the Brits this year just MK08 so tell him to get his arse there
-
Jai, Bernie was changing shoes after every race :LolLolLolLol:
-
Is Bernie gonna keep the clips on when he joins us in 40+ next season? I might have to dig my old MTB disco slippers out and get used to them over winter if he is ;)
-

will 40+ have more clipsters than 30-39 class in 2009 ;D ;D
-
Clips just aint the thing for 40+ or am I completely off track here?
I'd hate to see us old men clipping in.
Be a sad day when I see someone clipping in for the 40+, I'll prob go back to old school if that happens regularly.
-
Kev rode brilliantly today & thoroughly deserved his win (first of the season i think?) he was outgating me everytime & although i was all over him like a rash on the track i couldnt find a way to pass cleanly, in one of the motos i got bored following him & did my usual move of jumping past him but he moved across as i was in the air & i had nowhere to land but on him (sort of) & he went down real hard & looked to be hurt but thankfully was ok, then came back to win the final, i did drag race him to the line & there was maybe a wheel in it! >:(
Masters was a joy to watch, Martin P was in gate 8, Paul Bennett holeshotted everyone then (as usual) backed off at the first turn & ended up in the pack with lots of tyre buzzing going on, Daddy Whyte emerged in the lead & looked to have it but Martin Parker sat behind him in second & didnt panic, while Nigel rode low in the berms to close the door, Martin simply used his head & rode high on the berms & gained more & more speed & simply pulled out on the last straight & flew by to win with a lovely manual across the line.
I thought the track was in pretty good shape really & the crashes are due to the layout & design of the track, mostly where everyone gets funnelled together in the first turn(s), i think its time to change that turn then Dagenham will rank really highly among tracks!
A good day at Dagenham!! :)

unfortunately BADBMX are unable to do anything about the track design until the council change their stance, they know its a problem but have their hands tied. at least it has some surface on it now, couple of weeks ago it was looking a bit bare....
always an enjoyable track to race, love the rhythm section, one of the trickier ones on the circuit...
-
Has to be one of my favourite tracks we visit. (after the Bay of course :LolLolLolLol:)
-
Yeah i heard the council were very strict about no track alterations, shame that. Apart from that turn the track really rocks & yeah have to agree the last straight is cool.
Forgot to mention the oldschool earlier, i think Bernie got a bit of a shock in a few of the motos by how fast you guys go!! & that crash in the last turn was pretty harsh!! Things are hotting up nicely in that class now!! Brilliant to watch!! Keep it up! ;)
-
We do aim to entertain.... its nice to have a rabbit to chase once in a while... though his turn of pace was quite noticeable....
-
I do have to look twice sometimes to see if its masters or oldschool on the track, you guys have got so much faster now!! 1-4 seems to enjoy ghosting his bike more now too! Whats that all about?
-

1-4??? and whats ghosting??
-
Sam Wonfor, and ghosting is letting your bike go on it`s own which Sam did after crossing the finish line in one of his motos :daumenhoch:
-
He did it before the finish at Mk!! If his mum & dad still came racing they wouldnt be happy!!! ;)
-
Ahh I C - Sam did that against me at MK couple of weeks ago - it was pure desperation as i just got the draught on him out of the last turn and nipped him on the line.
Didnt see him do it today - personally throwing your bike is just too dam expensive when its an OS bike involved.... also i presume you have to be on it when you cross the line to take the place??
But than thats Sam for you - he does have a little Kamikazi side to him - if you saw the crash you mentioned in the 2nd moto you would have seen the move that caused it... though the great thing about OS racing is I havent seen anyone get upset by any of the moves pulled whatever the outcome...
Rubbin' is Racin....

Points are up :daumenhoch:

Had a great time today, track is very very nice, with the usual moan, first corner. Was good to test the stamina on a long track, don't think it was too bad, just a shame about the final. Thinks its time for my 5 year old Reboks to go in the bin!!!!
-
Sam and Zippy's coming together was very funny, they untangled themselves and then tried untangling there bikes, I had to shout at them to calm down, then Zippy's sprint to the line as his bars were twisted, Sam ghosting his bike at the OS crowd. Then they both had a big man hug :daumenhoch:
Excellent to watch, Marshalling does give different perspective, great watching all the lines in the 1st and last corners and the sprints to the line. Although did see a few people moving across to block others on the last straight :knuppel2:
-
good day yesterday.pulled my back a bit lifting a speaker at the start of the day and then totally mangled it coming off in my final.few days off for me i think :'(..beat bernie shalle in a moto which i have never done before unless he's fallen off so that was pretty cool.
great to see so many riders who started racing at hersden now riding at regionals and doing so well.just goes to show we must be doing something right. :)
well run meeting, being home by 6.30pm was great.normally 7/8pm at least.wind was a bugger as i wanted to get the 1st straight dialled in but didnt seem to affect the racing.got some proper leg out berm moves done in nearly every race i think.
big up eastkents Issac Lennon.1st race at a regional and came home in 3rd.well done bro. :4_17_5:
-
My B final (30-39 cruiser) was the most fun I've had in a final, although I would have prefered to be in the A.
-

well done to all the riders with regional rankings, roll on the next race, and a new pair of trainers!!!

Be a sad day when I see someone clipping in for the 40+, I'll prob go back to old school if that happens regularly.
A couple of years ago I would've agreed with you Paul, but my stance on clips has mellowed and I don't really give a toss whether other people use them anymore. I've even thought about doing a practice session clipped in to see what my first straight is like in them, but have resisted temptation so far cos clipping in once is a bit like bumming another man once - even if you don't like it and never do it again, you're still a bit gay for trying it.
-

Funniest thing I have read in years!

Looks like the 40+ cruiser title is going down to the wire with Jon Moore just 2 points ahead of Keith Wilson.
Jon will have home track advantage at Bournemouth, but I'm sure Keith will fight to the end (if he's going to B'mouth that is).
-
Keith said he was going to MK, but dunno if that still stands.
It's funny the way the point go, cos it's only your top 5 posistions that score, when you get near the top you really have to do a lot to change them.
I thought it would be possible to catch you up, but there's no way cos I'd drop my lowest score if I did well, then replace this with the new higher score, would only make a few points diifference anyway.
Sure it's even tighter for the very top fellas.
-
Anyway back to Dagenham...
Loved it, when I cheered up, I think I just had a grumpy morning!
Masters was mental as ever, but I've ended up with a sore thought from breathing in Martin Parkers dust all day. I've also ended up with a very stiff neck, no sympathy from my missus or mother, both said if you ride that dirty you deserve it...::)
The trophy presentation for the BAD Winter Series was a nice touch, my nephew was over the moon with his trophy and number plate, he's taking it to school today to show his class. :4_17_5: I've got some pictures of a few of the yongsters looking chuffed with themselves, I post them later tonight when of dragged the off of the camera.
The 40+ racing was class to watch, well done all you guys superb racing. I can't wait for Bournemouth for the big showdown decider.
The toughest age group yesterday looked like the 8's. Most of the top national rides in there, fantastic to see the standard getting that high for them in the South, it can only do the little guys good.
-
Anyway back to Dagenham...
Oops I did wander a little then didn't I. Having a very quiet day at work, so my brains free to wander LOL
I wish there was someone at regionals who filmed the races. Would love to see the 40+ final, and most of the masters moto's right through to the final. Deffo the most entertaining class to watch!
-
Your right Roooonga, it is a shame no one films at the regionals. I would film the cruisers and old school on my camera, but my hands go really shakey after racing, I've tryed before and it's never the best quality. I could do some filming at Bournemouth and the South Champs @ the bay if anyone wanted to take the tape, edit it and upload it, I never get the chance.
I don't actually like watching myself race, I can't stand my riding style, but I do make myself laugh with some of the moves I pull off.
-
Miles, try using a face mask next time, or pedal faster if you want to avoid breathing my dust :LolLolLolLol:
Masters was (and always will be) great racing - love it.

I was closely watching your lines, I was going to do the business in the final, but it took me the whole track to navigate my way rounds Warlock's fat ass. :LolLolLolLol:

Def going to bournemouth now, went down last weekend to practice the track, jumped some of it but not all so going back next weekend to get it 'right'. It will go down to the wire between Jon & me & yes we'll both give it our all!!! :2gunsfiring_v1: (mind you if Kev (k-ran) gates like he did yesterday he'll probably beat us both!!)
We can thank Phil Beer for me being around this season as it was only cos he knocked me off at the first race & i was in the 'B' final that day that i decided to race again to show myself i could do better than 'B' finals!!
Next season i wont be riding a four year old clunker with creaky cranks, buckled wheels, bent forks & bald tyres, i'll be 'dialled up' hopefully!!
Will anyone be able to tell us apart next year if we're on the same bikes/kit, enough people come up to me now & have a chat then say 'ok Jon see you later'!!! :D

That is just the funniest thing I have every seen :LolLolLolLol: Please say You will produce a range of Dialled T-shirts , with that Caption on the back ! Heres my order for one in XL, how much and where do you send the cheque ???

Nikki/Ratty, I got a few of Josh and Matt, as above if you want the hi-rez files give me a shout.

Where's the one of Mr.Stupple then ::)

Mike, I was thinking about going clips next year. Does that make me gay just thinking about it?
-
pmsl, does it count even if your drunk :2funny:

Mike i have never thought of myself as gay untill today ,WHAT HAVE YOU DONE :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

No Mart, as the first rider in the UK to do tailwhips on dirt you'll never be gay. Thinking about clipping in just makes you bi-curious ;)
Seriously though, I'm totally over the whole clips thing and accept they're now just part of BMX. I wasn't joking when I said I might try them in practice, hence my "little bit gay" comment.
-
Fook clips, there`s no way I could ride without putting my foot down a few times, as you may well have noticed this season ???
-
I was going to fit a pair of my mtb clips to my OS ride just to see Ratty totally burst a blood vessel and shit his pants.... :LolLolLolLol:
feck it it might just be fun....... but only when he is better like... :smitten:
-

One pedal start on clips?????
-
I can`t imagine the thoughts that must go through your head as you faceplant the ground with your feet still attached to the pedals :crazy2:
-
And them silly shoes clonking away every where you walk :)
-
and you have to do a tap dance at the top of the start hill to get the little stones out of your shoes :LolLolLolLol:
