Hi All
Just need confirmed the following;
A 1984 VDC Changa F&F is definitely 4130 Chromoly????
And why are all the chrome platers I approach to dechrome, prep and re-chrome telling me that they CANNOT re-chrome Chromoly steel???? Is this true?

speak to nick gashead, he is the man for frame chroming
-
I had no probs getting some a hutch forks rechromed, and they were 4130 tubing.
-
As far as i know, if it has chrome on it now, i can be reversed and replated.
-
I have quite a bit of chroming done, 4130 all the time, they're bullshitting you out of being lazy because the polishing won't be an easy job on the frame.
-
I think the only explanation is that chromers want to get rid of those blokes with stoopid kids bikes :LolLolLolLol:

Both Nick and myself use the superb Doug Taylor's in Weston-super-Mare. They charge about £180 for frame and forks to be chromed.
