I didnt like that so I did this...

and yeah I have lowered the stem since  ::)

I have a pair of turquoise peregrine masters that I could fit, any other cost effective suggestions to make it look better as it always looks a bit pants next to my T/A

I would leave the Tuffs on put the Blue seat back on, try some black tyres & maybe some earlier bars

Think id pick up some 3 piece cranks, a powerdisc and perhaps get some black involved, maybe tuffs and grips

I agree with Chris, it looked pretty good as it was...  Vector bars are always good on an '84 and you don't need to worry about a stem.  Put the MX1000s back on as they look a lot better than 901's and bleach the ally hubbed tuffs and put them back on the bike (assuming you still have them) as they are better suited to an '84 than plastic hubbed ones.

I've seen a few '84 Masters and Sports with blue seat, Tuffs, grips, disc or chainring and they always look very nice.

Just keep switching things around until you're 100% happy with it

Thank you all for your advice, I sat down and got to thinking...I know i'll look through the museum...I could see straightaway the difference a pair of amber skinwall black tyres would make to it.  I also take your point about the blue seat (although that particular blue seat was hellishly uncomfortable) I might have a flyte tech that I can use.  I could also get some Ami tris/rounds/cams in blue and I have lying spare a tuff neck silver powerdisc so I could either get a blue chainring for that or get a blue tagaki chainring with polished spider...I'm also sure I have some  shimano sx pedals in blue to fit the opc...

As for the brakes, I'll have to think about that some more, might put the mx1000 calipers back on but keep the white cables.

My two peneth worth; blue seat back on, lower though.  MX1000's a must with tech 3's, change the bars, CW Freestyle bars good to go especially with a Tuf Neck or Pro Neck stem, replace chainring with original spider and chain ring, change the tyres for skinwalls with black tread (Comp ST's or Panaracers), finally put the DX's back on  :daumenhoch:.

looks pretty good so far -does need a separate chainring/powerdisc (maybe a blue disc +white chainring ,just to be different?)
and yeah black compe st's tyres or similar

I agree with Nick. The alloy hubbed may be a little more "off white" but they do look far better than placcy hubs on an 84. Looks superb other than that  :daumenhoch:
