Yes I know another bloody build from me.
This one means so much to me as the Yamaha BYZ401 was the 1st BMX I owned when I returned to the UK from the USA in 1982.
The BYZ401 was the middle bike in the Yamaha range and this bike is built exactly the same way it looked when I received it on Christmas day.
It was in a bit of a sorry state when I received it and I have completely restored all of the parts, the only new parts are the grips, levers and tyres. All the other parts are original and have been either painted or re-annodised.
Thanks to Creamy (Mark) for selling it to me.

Awesome Sean really takes me back to 82 with the gussetted frame and Tech 2 brakes. Well done mate not many people take the time to restore the original parts :daumenhoch:

Scorpions are ace, I love them. That is what I am looking for next as that was the bike I rode when I lived in the USA. I would love to have a Scorpion and a Yamaha.
I cannot wait to see that bike finished.

They are the original forks Paul, however the original decals said Tange TMX, now I couldn't find decals for TMX forks (actually I have never heard of Tange TMX forks) so stuck the TRX decals on as that was all I could source.
Those forks were really, really rusty so stuck them overnight in an oxalic acid bath and they came out sparkly.
