In terms of 'cross bar' length???
-
cross bar length?
the TRM has a long toptube!!!
not a big bike though
in another thread we finally established that the toptube length is a very vague way of describing a frame
for an old school frame it's like buying shoes based on the width of your feet
-
RL20?

hehe
only until people understand how bikes are measured
-
from the bikes ive had and thats a few the haro sport was prob one of the longest feeling rides ive had and mega nice frame too
-
the old haro fst's and sports were a good size
also the rickman freestyler feels long up front
-
sh1tty ammaco freestyler...f00king too long & the head tube went straight down
-
good for endoness
-
ok, what im gettin at is, what the best OS freestyle frame for a Lanky person???
-
depends what you want it for, a show bike or to ride daily?
-
i am 6 foot 2, and the rickman is fine. not that im great at tricks, but it feels more comfy than a lot of bikes ive had. haro freestyler was quite long too.
-
you aint 6 foot 2
are ya?
in heels maybe
-
nope. in stockinged feet.
i was last time i checked any way. i tend to lean over when i see you due to exhaustion trying the new trick you have been been unsuccesfully teaching me..
-
i'm over 6 foot & the Torker 280X i had felt pretty roomy compared to most old bikes, thats why i used it to do the London-Brighton on ::)
i think it has more to do with a very laid back seat tube angle rather than actually being any bigger :-\
-
Well i want a OS freestyle frame purely 4 looks, im 6' 5" so am for to lanky to be good at tricks, so i want a nice looking, large frame, what do ya reckon????
-
HARO SPORT :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5:
NUFF SAID :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

go for the fst
they didnt have the stupid platforms added on
well not as early as the sport anyway
-
cheers for the advise, really dont like the haro with the 2 top tubes(master i think), i do like the haro that looks like a streetbeat, how does the haro compare to a streetbeat in size and stuff? whats the difference between a Haro sport and a Haro FST?? also, how much am i expecting to spend on one of these haro's sports / FST's??? i used to have a hara shredder, just thought i'd menthion that, no reason.......cheers!
-
i had a haro shredder too
really nice frame. nice low slung toptube
as for the fst and sport, there are 2 theories
some say it was a "tri moly" sport
some say it was the same bike but with lower spec components
also i think the early fst's were all chromo, then went to chromo main tubes (or the other way around)
i think brian blyther used to ride an fst. good enough for him . . .
with the "stupid platforms" no disrespect to anyone who has one of these haros, but i really feel those rear dropout platforms detracted from the overall quality of the bike. hence why i would go with an fst if you cant find an 84 sport!!!
-
ok, so what are these haro sports goin for??? i want a good respo project, custom job!!! also, are they better than, and bigger than street beats??? i need info, where can i get one from?? any good websites??? etc????
TheRuler, you clearly love ya haro sports, give us ya knowledge..........
cheers,
Ben

I think the badlander is the biggest vintage freestyler i have had.
-
badlander, who manufactures badlanders??? i heard this rumour that raleigh burner mk 2's are the best bike in the world, this must be a fact. so wot bike is best for a tall person, a haro sport, a fst, a badlander, a raleigh burner? come on, pull ya self together, wots the crack??? i need fact.............now
-
Get a Torker Freestylist, they are huge... same sort of set up as a RL20 II... 5" head tube so very roomy and nice to ride as well :)
-
haro sport`s are long ,trickstar 2`s and redline rl20 if you go mid skool then the haro master bashguard {not the first model} also wilkinson airlines
-
orb you tight get.
forget about the badlander, you will never find one for sale.
fst and fsx were trimoly. main tubes are chromo.thats why they could make them as cheap as they did. sports were the same shape, but full chromoly.
if you are 6ft 5 and not interested in doing tricks just riding it to the shops, an fst or fsx with a layback and a set of big bars would pe fine i reckon.
i would look to pay around 200 quid for a full bike. whether it be a streetbeat or a haro. thats for a good one ie restored.
i sold this fsx a while ago for 180quid.
its the orang/red one on the far right.
the chrome one is the badlander orb was refferring to.

I'm 6ft and I've got 2 FST's and I owned a Master back in the late 90's (84 model) The Sport/fst/FSX design is way big enough for my size. Much better than the master.
-
Gotta be the Rickman for length, top tube is something like 180" and the widest frame has to be the MK1 Vincent freestyler triple top tube jobby, fecking awful!
-
dude the fst is a good inch shorter than the sport on the top tube
-
I love that picture.
Weird that when we all unloaded cars and all kinds of frames sets and goodies started to land on the floor.
