Been mainly polishing with my polishing wheels. top results for little sweat. Really pleased with my purchase.

from this to this...by hand....stripped with oven cleaner...1000 grit wet and dry....then polished by hand using autosol, then peek, then tcut.....piece of urine

in this next pic you can still se the colour it used to be....this is a fooked one that jj (baldbmxer) gave me and need a lot of work, again all by hand, it had some fairly deep nicks and sctatches in it...it took some time but i find it quite thereputic(sp)
and the results are worth the while

dont no if anyones intrested got a dremmal style bit of kit only 14.99 from lidal's last week cheap but it works fine 101 Accessory kit 3.99

It must be International polishing week! I've been rubbing my crank all day. Felt good too!  :bondage:
The Redline stem is mine from bitd too. It's goin on a special rebuild.

Here's one I prepared earlier. i wish I still had a "Before" piture...it looked fooked. Took me about 3 hours with various grades of wet and dry used wet, then hand polished with Autosol.

Don't use sand paper, use wet n dry. Did Dave mention 1000 grit ?

dave, i always start on a lower grade and work up to 1200

start on say a 600 grit, 800, 1000, 1200.

always use em wet dordy, it stops the paper clogging up to quick, and the secret ingredient i always use is a drop of fairy liquid in the water, dave you will be impressed with the results, i can garantee most of the polished items shown here are much, much better in the flesh, pictures never capture the depth of shine properly.
take your time, its not easy work, just a bit labourious......

I start on 320 wet & dry then move up to 600. You don't really need to go any further than 600. I also use the 600 with soapy water. Autosol gets the rest out.
