Posting this up for TK the MIC :
Dear Rad Members
Sunday September 14th, sees Hersden host its final meeting of its Summer Series for 2008. Those of you that have been to the track before, you will know that its our biggest race of the year and like last year it will hold the 2008 OLD SKOOL SHOOTOUT. Also this year we have decided to raise some money for Cancer Research to try and do some good at the same time as having our usual fun.
As ever all our O/S races will be done by pre registration on RADBMX by pm to me or by the relevent thread.
We would like as many RAD members as possible to support this meeting, and it will run to the following...
1 Pre Registration will open Monday August 25th and will close at 7pm September 13th.
2 Riders must pre reg their names and plate numbers.
3 Registration on the day will close at 11.30 am
4 Race entry fee for O/S will be £7 ( £2 of which will go to Cancer Research)
5 Cruisers as ever are welcome for their own races ( £3 entry)
If you hvent been to Hersden before you will be made very welcome ( postcode ct3 ohx for your satnavs)
Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Cheers

Looking forward to it - let see if we can beat the 33 riders they had last year..
shouldnt everyone pay an extra £2 towards the charity though - not just Old School????
-
you try getting an extra £2 out of a kid whose mum only give him £3 to get him out of her hair for the day.when i see you i'll explain a few things about hersden mate.i agree with your sentiment but its not that simple. :'(
-
fair enough - only trying to help.... how about masters cruisers and OS?
-
Dont worry Simon, we will come up with a way of getting an extra couple of quid out of one or two :knuppel2: :2gunsfiring_v1:.
My daughter Katie, will be making a return to the girls group that day and we will get friends and family to sponsor her for doing that, with the money going with all the rest that we manage to make that day.
Huge thanks to Alan Humps for getting the ball rolling with his £100 getting us off to a flyer.
We have got 25 names down for the posties race , with each rider getting three motos during the half time slot, with the finals running alongside the main programme. This will help those riders that are going to do two classes on the day to get that extra breathing space time. Each postie will pay £3 so there's another £75.
Dont forget mums, wives, sisters, aunties, neices and daughters are all welcome to take part in the senior ladies race, where the £3 entry money for that will also go to the charity box.
Pre Reg for Old Skool will open the day after the Brits (Monday 25 August).

My Girlfriend will be making her racing debut!!

Huge thanks to Alan Humps for getting the ball rolling with his £100 getting us off to a flyer.
My pleasure Tony. But what would be even more pleasurable would be to see a HUGE turnout in the Old Skool class thereby swelling the funds donated to this worthy cause.
Tony, it might be a bit of a pain to do this but if entrants could download this form http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/pdfs/donatebypostform.pdf
complete it for the "donation" part of their Registration and hand it in with their entries it will be possible for Cancer Research to claim the tax bit under Gift Aid (eg. my £100 donation becomes £128.20 with the clawback from the IR). Of course, if anyone wants to donate some extra above the £2 donation I'm sure no-one will mind.
And if any RADsters are worried about making a fool of themselves as they trundle round the track then don't worry because I've been doing just that for the last five years at Hersden. And I think I've come in last in almost every meeting I've done!! Last is the new :4_17_5: Humps
-
......and you are still on for a top three finish in Cruisers Humps ;D. Good idea about the form download, its for Cancer Research not the government, they get enough is at is :angrysoapbox:.

Forgot to mention the conditions for the postie race. Rule 1 paragraph 1, all royal mail employees may race unless they go by the names of Justin Esson and Russ Parsons ;D

Less than 24 hours after opening up the registration, already we have 11 names down for O/S. So theres another £22 for charity, which is all good.
Will be good to see Dan's brother Tony racing for the first time at Hersden, but will there be some familiar faces coming back after we haven't seen them all year?

Who won the OS?

How's magoo?

Neil tagged the backod Stupps in his semi and went down hard. It looked like he either dislocated is knee or had it popout and back in again.
He was feeling a lot better when the ambulance came and whipped him away though so that's good news. ;)

Must be maturing in my old age.
I've pent too long racing Darren to know that I can't ride through him. I have started beating him on occassion though. ;D
