Very nice, if thats your first build then looking forward to the next :4_17_5:
-
Sweet looking build, good job :4_17_5:
-
Nice 1st build :daumenhoch:
If you're not fussed on the flights, sell them and put a nice OPC on it.
:)
-
must admit that is nice except i think they look better with one piece cranks .thats my own opinion though .cracking first build though will take some beating
-
lovely looking bike.
well done :daumenhoch:
-
Excellent job mate. :4_17_5:
Gotta lose the twin pinches though in my eyes. Someone had some lovely NOS Sugino Gold GT cranks on here that would have set that bike right off!
Fookin great job for a first build!! :4_17_5:
-
That's the nuts fella, for your first trip out :daumenhoch:
-
Get in there! :4_17_5:
-
Go OPC or ally 3 piece , and it looks like you go to the Munners chain tightening school ! ::)
Lookin' good though ;)
-
gotta love a kuwie :daumenhoch:
nice first build

excellent build congrats but yeah lose the flights. And as no one else has answered you - yes you always have washers etc left over.

Kuwahara :smitten: :smitten:
My first proper BMX was a Kuwahara Nova. I just bought one of the new Kuwahara Brava 3 bikes and they are so nice. However, my old school project is probably going to be a Kuwahara Exibitionist. As they are super rare it may take me a while. However, I do have the A'me grips for it so its a start ;D
-
Nice first build
yea as others have said , chrome one piece would be better than twin pinch lol but great work
Rich
-
Graham , mate thats a stunning Kuwahara you've got there :4_17_5:
I absolutely love it :smitten:
Well worth the wait
(BTW I was expecting to see a Redline MXII for your first build :-\ )
-
if thats ur first i can't wait to see the next , thats sweet well done :coolsmiley:
-
Lovely looking bike, it was me that had the Gold Sugino, gone now collected at MK, think that might be my brake on there if you bought it at MK from the face painter(wife), think you might have even asked about gold cranks?
-
Yep gotta agree its very nice :smitten:
I do like the gold n black colour scheme :4_17_5:
-
Cheers for all the great comments guys glad you like it I was chuffed with it. :daumenhoch:Know what you mean about the OPC I did buy a chrome Tagaki but only had the KKT pedals for three piece and have spent too much lately on bits to stretch to gold 3 piece :( Also thought with it being a replica I could get away with the twin pinch's. ;) Have a survivor KZ1 on the go and the opc will be going on that ::) As for the chain its still not fixed as broke the link tool trying to re-connect it so it was just loosely attached :LolLolLolLol:
Also forgot to thank Ian (Bodamus) for help with parts ::) Most of the other bits were from Alan's (had him dig in his boxes ;D)
Dubber the MX11 is still in the works, got side tracked by this project and the parts are hard to find and fund ???
Cheers
Graham :daumenhoch:

v nice mr youngy :coolsmiley:

all my first builds had twin pinch flights on them but the more you start lookin at your builds the more they just don't look right, keep them for when you build a rider, ya can get away with usin them then :daumenhoch: nice kuwi dude :daumenhoch:
-
Nice :4_17_5:
Slippery slope now mate, they will stack up and your pockets become empty :D
-
massive soft spot for kuwies !! and that ones almost on the button .. are they kuwie forks ?? maybe they could go black too imho !! take on board wot the others have said about the cranks and ur a winner !! .. :daumenhoch:
-
One thing i love about some resto's is when you look at the tire and it has those white bits where they are new, just makes the bike lok factory fresh, keep up the awesome work fella 8)
-
By any standards that's a good build, not just as a first one. As for the twin pinchers, well you'd have to be pretty mean to knock it for that....and to be honest, if a bike looks good it looks good end of story...
Come on...Who on here would restore an ugly bike to factory ugliness...that's like Turkeys voting for an early Christmas.
Good build, well done :daumenhoch:
Ray.
-
well done! good standard for a first build!
-
Nice, ive never been near to owning a Kuwi, but that it tempting me...
I also used twin pinchers on my first builds, until I realised my errors ;D and swapped for a one piece Takagi on one and a NOS Hanabishi 3 piece on the other. I agree though, that they look the part, just a shame when everything else is of the era.
My final point is a general one to everyone. I didnt use em in the old days, but how the hell did/do you reach those tech 2 levers?
-
Dunno who revived this thread but I never tire of looking at it :smitten: Cheers again for the great comments, have been toying with splitting but this has changed my mind again :-\
