Post by: bmxmatt1974 on August 20, 2008, 03:42 PM
so who do you think will win mens final at olympics?

I'm hoping Jared Graves wins it, he was looking good this morning  :daumenhoch:

My Top 3:  Mike Day, Jared Graves, Maris Strombergs (not necessarily in that order).  But if there's a crash, anything can happen and anyone can sneak in to a medal spot.

Top 3 for women will be Shanaze, ACC and LLC (in that order).

Siphiso Nlhapo - would be South Africa's only medal I think - that'd be cracking seeing as tho worlds are there in 2010...

Blokes: Marius Strombergs

If everyone stays upright, I can't see Sifiso getting a medal or even making the main, but if theres a crash he could be a surprise package as he's managed to pull off some unexpected results recently (e.g. Worlds finalist 2008).

SAME AS! Day or Strumsblokes  :LolLolLolLol: .

BUT - that first turn is a proper ripple bumpy crash burm!

Shinny for the womens all the way.  :daumenhoch:

I'm with you Dingo... I think they all know Shinny is the main threat, hopefully she will be long gone outta the gate before they get any opportunity of some 'tactical' berm warfare!!

For the gents I am gonna say Mikey Day.... cos' he looked most impressive this morning...

I think Artus Matisons could suprise everyone although he does have a difficult semi-final.

I recon Donny Robinson is playing things down a bit - just doing enough to get through.

He's so mentally strong,  and uber quick so I'm backing him. (Got 5 to one odds too LOL!)

As for the ladies - everyone else can form a line behine Shindawg!

Hate to say it but ACC looked quicker into & over the last jump in the first straight than Shanaze, lets hope Shanaze was cruising & saving the 'real deal' for the main!!!   :2gunsfiring_v1:

I reckon Mike Day in the blokes  :daumenhoch:

Womens i hope will be Shindawg, although ACC was faster in the trials her pack riding is not as strong, having said that the way Shinny is taking the last jump into the 1st corner looks a bit out to me, fastest combo so far looks the jump jump option, her manualling looked slower to me, god i hope i'm proved wrong cos that bird is soo damn fast it's scarey and it'd be great for British BMX to bring home Gold   :daumenhoch:

ACC might be faster over that jump into the first berm, but Shanaze is usually about 2 bike lengths in front by then, so hopefully it won't matter.
