Im having some race wheels built up... with ALienation 440 rims... and the question I need answered is ... Im having a black front rim.. and on the rear should I go for
a black rim
a black rim with machined sidewall
or a chrome rim
also - would a ProperBike Co 36 hole sealed front hub be ok for racing? what do you think? I'll be runing a v brake - so am thinking machined sidewall black rim might be best?
-
Personally, I'd go for 2 black rims.
Are you building up a new school race bike Steve? Be good to see you at some of the races.
-
So do you think a rear machined sidewall best, or just plain black?
-
Both rims all black. Let the brake pads do the machining ;)
Or go for machined walls front and rear if you want matching.
-
Cool mike. Just pm'd you with some more questions!
-
:) Just watch the axle length on the front hub,as freestyle hub axles are usually longer than those on race hubs. You don`t want an axle that looks wack on a tasty racebike!
-
So what are you building then Steve, Old school cool or new school cool.
And are you actually going to race it in the south series?
-
I have a 38 Special race frame, Alienation rims, odyssey race cassette, etc .. and am going to have a go at racing once Ive moved to Devon!
